V3i Earpiece Buzzing Fixes

I recently bought the v3i, and it quickly developed the notorious earpiece buzz that drives many insane. Looking around for fixes, I came across this post that seemed to tackle the issue somewhat at first:

After a while, the buzz redeveloped, and I took off the screen cover again to try to readjust the area I applied a pressure pad to. That's when I noticed that without the main screens lens on, it makes absolutely no buzzing whatsoever. Most people that have tried the pressure fix tend to get rid of the buzz in calls, but it leaves behind a buzz while off them. Without the lens on, it made absolutely no buzzing sounds whatsoever.

At this point, I've been trying to figure out what exactly it is about the lens cover that causes it to make the noise, but I'm completely stumped. Anyone have any ideas to throw in here? Or has an actual fix been found yet?

On a side note, do not order from Mywirelessexperts on Ebay. They have some of the best prices on there for many phones, but their support is non-existant... At least when they're not being threatened... At which point you might actually get an e-mail response telling you to call them. Of course, they don't answer 9 out of 10 times...
