6500 flip faceplate for 6590?

The 6500 flip housing fits on the 8390 perfectly. Will it also fit on the 6590? They're both 6500 series phones, I don't see why not. I'm going to find out with the 6590 at the AT&T store today or tomorrow.
Anyone already know?

Man, I love that my AT&T store is just a few minutes away. Anyway...
Nope, it won't fit. It probably would if you file down the top tabs of the faceplate, the same way you'd make an 8390 faceplate fit on the 6590.
My AT&T store, in Center City Philly, still doesn't have the 7210. What a bummer. I have yet to see it with my own eyes.

Ok..If you add a Nokia 6500 flip faceplate to a 6590, does the active flip work? I noticed that there are two contacts under the faceplate at the bottom of the 0 key.
I did this with my nokia 6160, and it worked.
Anyone tried this yet?

Did what to your 6160? Turn it into an active flip? With what housing?
I know the 8390 has metal contacts at the "0" key also, just like the real 6500 phone, but does not have active flip with the 6500 housing. I haven't heard of anyone who bought the 6500 housing for their 6590. It might fit with some tab filing, and the active flip might work with the 6590. I only have factual info for the 8390.
