My son's girlfriend's uncle's brother has a friend who knows someone who knows the president of Danger who told them it would have a 500 Gb hard drive, Bluetooth, Orangetooth, Purpletooth, Wi-Fi, supports printer and mouse. Can project 3x4 foot image on wall, inflatable full size keyboard, can boot Windows, Linux, or Mac OS. USB port allows complete access to file system including MP3 ringtone folder. -Be priced at $199 for a 2 year contract or $250 on a 1 year contract

I agree with terry on the QVGA. To me that's the biggest thing missing from the Sidekick 3. Like I've said in other threads, increasing the screen from 240 x 160 to QVGA (320 x 240) gives you twice as many pixels. 240 x 160 is 38400 pixels and QVGA gives you 76800 pixels. That's a huge difference when you're trying to look at a web page.

It also better be a lot slimmer. People seem to want thin phones. Just look at how well the Motorola Razr and Samsung A900 have been selling. Also the Motorola Q was much anticipated because it was so thin.

Well I posted it only a couple of days ago and I've really only been participating in Sidekick 3 discussions the past week. It's really not that hard to remember especially when you're annoyed that the Sidekick 3 will have such a low resolution screen for a data centric device.

I work at T-Mobile; I sweep floors for them at their HQ. I managed to snap this quick picture of the prototype for the HipTop/Sidekick4, also known as the Sidekick Quad. They let me try it out so I took a quick picture using my friend's Sidekick II (notice the blue fades on the corners??) and so here you go, hofo. Enjoy.

P.S. I blurred my sn out for obvious reason. I don't want to have to go back to sweeping floors for Cingular. =[.

Oh yeah, all the above mentioned features are true. They left out the part where this baby can microwave food.

my best freinds dad works for the military and he used a cloaking device to sneak into dangers secret lab (where there designing the sk4) and also noticed it has a lighter on it. you can change the color of the flame. (blue red orange green purple and bright white). its also a projector.

UMD's are pointless. They don't sell and BestBuy and all the other major retailers have pulled UMD movies from the shelves. Once Sony gives up on the PSP, they'll be gond too and along with it, UMD's completely.

Actually, Motorola is really good at building solid, good looking cell phones (i.e. RAZR, RIZR, V635, SLVR), they just have bad UI's and since, being a Sidekick, it would have the Danger UI, then I see no issue with Motorola making it, if indeed they do. Actually, Motorola is known for having awesome screens in their phones (i.e. ROKR E2) so the screen might be improved as well.

Has anyone considered getting serious a bit with this thread? If most SK3 users here post what they want in a SK4 and there IS enough of you I'm sure Danger Inc may get wind of it and take a quick look.

ie I want the SK4 to pleasure me everynight isnt realistic but doing video calls or video chat - HINT HINT new IDEA that hasnt been implemented yet in ANY platform (I patented this hehe) - would do a fine substitute.

There wouldn't be any real reason to roll out UMA-compaible sk3's quite yet.. The @Home service hasn' been officially launched yet. I'd say get ready for more UMA devices when they release @Home for more regions.

I want the Side Kick 4 to have...

The classic SK3 slider screen, but little bit larger and much more clear screen as a razr, but sponsored by TrueBrite (or at least some company that knows laptops and cellphones for bright and crystal clear LCD/Plasmas and other etc...). I sure do NOT want to be looking at PIXLES ever again... HiDef is out and hot on the market... They sure need to catch UP with the times.

Crystal screen, scratch resistant like a Vertu or a Movado watch face.

The casing be made of something stronger than plastic, maybe stainless steel, liquidmetal, titanium or a light weight alloy...

Keep the vCard system which is similar to a Mac. Search system part is the most important.

Love the Trillian based Messaging system w/ Yahoo, AIM, MSN at the same time. But needs to add the "NOTES:" part which Trillian/AIM stores. (I write the person's real name in the notes, cause I can never remember who it is!)

Keep the POP mail system.

A visual stimulating system like the PSP is a good example... or if anyone has seen Lain: Serial Experiments (Japanese Anime Movie Series)... The "Navi" Computer System... Glows and cool icons and screen changes.

Absolutely no Microsoft Windows based platform!!! That would be discusting... Stay edgy with a an adapted platform or a completely new one which is cool and liquid screen changes between menues like I said before PSP and Lain...

Don't forget the Internet Favorites Folder!

A decent mp3 player... possibly similar to Sonique based with visuals!

Outragiously large memory card! For lots of Pictures and Video... Have a camera 2.0 MegaPixals or higher. 10 Minute Videos like the Nokia N Series...

An LED Light Camera Flash, also can turn on as a flash light when needed the dark... like the Samsung E715 phone had.

I have no ideal what the deal is with T-Mobile, but Downloading ringtones and java games should just be FREE, and downloadable and computer to phone transfer...

As well as transfer mp3 to phone and make into ringtones, and edit program come with like the Motorola Sliver.

That is what I added and tweeked options that should be on the Side Kick 4!!!

Oh yea, pick up Hot Spots, like Starbucks, seamlessly... Free, no 30 bucks a month for SK users, just uses their HotSpots as a boost.

You know how back-then you could connect your phone to your laptop and you have internet... You should be able to do that with the sidekick... Since you have unlimited internet access... You can connect to your laptop and have internet where ever you go... Sometimes I'm stuck at a starbucks or a friend's house and can't steal internet anywhere!

Should be an international phone, for international people!!! And not cost extra! Similar to Cingular's International usage! If it has a Air Plane Mode... I think it should be compatable in Europe (Ex. France), Canada, South America, and Asia!!!

Oh yea. Pc/Sidekick connection is good, it's faster to update an adress book using a pc keyboard.

The projector screen would be so fun to use, especial showing groups of people what someone's aim conversation on a wall for everyone to see. Teehee.

I hope I can play this game www.realmsofdispair.com on the sk4, cause I use to play along time ago and it would be fun to get back on it... java or whatever mirc looking program I have of the game...

Also it would be interesting for when using aim/yahoo/etc... You would move your ball left and right to move between tabs, or that option to use it. The whole menu and press a number is to much hassle for me.

Now that I think about it, I totally dislike plastic buttons... Razr are so much better with titanium buttons, and the ball sould be a steel berring. (cold to the touch.)

Orrr... I could just use google maps...

But the phone better operate super fast. I can not stand how slow my Razar system is... and they never update... For example, the peble... same... silver.. same... I haven't had the chance to look at the Miror or whatever smaller razr, but I'm sure it's slow as hell. and web browsing is too.

ALSO A MAJOR THING THAT WOULD BE KICK AA!!!

I recently saw a in the Nokia Booth at the mall it was just a portable thing 300 dollars uses Linix and only used to surf the net and uses wireless connection...

WiFi, and whatever EDGE is... It would be so awesome if it picked up FREE Wireless Internet as laptops do... As well as PSP picks them up by WEP or I would just use my wireless at home / coffee shops. SO when I can still use the SideKick even when I stop using T-Mobile Service which would be useful for PrePaid People and I would not have to carry a bulky laptop with it's carrying case and wires.... Uhg!

I definatly know I will be using the SK for Address Book purposes for as long as I can... and when traviling have business numbers and physical address handy... information junk you don't nessarily need on a cell phone...

Reason is, if I go to France, I want internet I can search www.altavista.com translator and/or www.wordreference.com As well as have all the address I need to go. And GPS point A to B map... / www.googlemaps.com / http://maps.yahoo.com

Yeah- I say all those things, minus the touch screen. I hate touch screens. They're never that responsive. But also I would add an RSS reader, some type of eBook reader, google maps or GPS, and WIFI! Now that would be the greatest device ever.

Well Ladies and Gentleman I just spoke to a T-mobile rep on saturday afternoon about a new sidekick 4. She said that she heard a few things about the new sidekick. First of all it will be like a step down from the sidekick3 so that it will be more affordable for more people to buy. She also said it should be out very soon. This made me happy because I tried out the sidekick3 last week and I was very disappointed by the camera and i had no use for a device with an MP3 player (i have an Ipod) and a whack *** camera. I also didn't like the fact that you can't change the background and that you are stuck with the little cartoon people in the background. I did love the access to the internet, email, text messaging was great and the AIM, MSN, yahoo instant messenger feature. Other than those i didn't get to impressed by it. The ringtones were nice especially since the phone will vibrate along with the ringtone on the right setting and I liked the navigation buttons. I am glad i took back the sidekick 3 because I think there needs to be major improvements on it before it will be just right. You should be able to put a picture on the background instead of being stuck with cartoon characters on the phone lol anyways there you go!

yea well i spoke to the representative and that is what she told me now does anyone here work at T-mobile? No then why don't we just wait and see...The sidekick 3 is nothing great...the only thing i miss about it is is the ease of texting and aim messenging to me that isn't that much to offer considering you can get the same thing on a regular cell phone

Thank you for that post donniesd...that is all i was trying to tell people but really i am done with this forum because i don't have that sk3 anymore and that is the only reason i joined it. So adios happy sidekick shopping everyone...by the way i love the idea of a watered down but comprable sidekick...I have no need for an mp3 player or a camera on my sidekick...An alarm clock that comes with it and easy web access (aim messenger and text messenging) is good enough for me. I am going to buy a digital camera soon so why would i need a sucky sidekick camera that can't take pictures worth a damn. I am excited for the watered down version of the sk3

Well Said. But they should be using this time to make it better. Removing useless features that suck is a start, But not a fix.

I think an OTA wireless update for bacon and eggs in the morning would be nice.

I think screen resolution should definitely be one of the upmost importance, as well as battery life. No point of having it do everything when your battery life lasts 4 hours.

I tried the Ocean, btw, its not what its cracked up to be. I've returned it and went back to my SK II (yeah lame huh, but its still working better than the Ocean).

GPS like Helio's buddy beacon would be nice.

i hear its going to be the last sidekick ever made and it is going to have retractable wings that come out whenever you need to be in a hurry i also hear that it can stop time and turn into whatever you want. But thats only what the guys at gizmodo told me i wonder what crunchgear had to say? Also my third cousin twice removed ex girlfriends best friend's hairstylists knows sombody and their cousin worked in the watergate scandal and he hacked into the Headquarters and saw a girl holdin a breifcase that said TOP SECRET SIDEKICK 4 but he isn't superman so he couldn't see what it said. So he hired superman... well a superman impersonator which he found right in front of the Chinese Theatre in Los Angeles so he is pretty good. but he couldn't tell what it said so i was like bummer but my cousin guessed that it could:

and steal someones identity- you should get a citi bank card.
walk your children
and go on vaction...for you!
