T-Mobile has dropped the T-809 and seems to have replaced it with the T-629 (which is out of stock!). The t-629 seems VERY similar to the T-809 but has voice recognition dialing--It also has Airplane mode. Now I wish I had waited JUST a little longer! |

Back on the voice dialing though, do you ever really use it? I know with the other phones I've had it seemed all nifty and stuff, but when it actually came down to it, it took longer to get the phone to recognize what you're saying then it would to look down and press three buttons to call someone. Or is it just me? If you're talking about gettings tzones working again all you have to do is re-enter the server information into the phone. Which can be found on the first page of this thread. It allows you to: 1) Set the volume up to 10 (instead of 7 or 8 with the other firmwares) 2) You can select "none" for the camera shutter sound. 3) It allows to select "automatic", 850/1900, 900/1800 in the network band settings. 4) It works fine with my HS820 bluetooth headset. 5) IMEI is still zeroed out. 6) A lot of the Sansung "secret code" menus don't work. 7) *#8999*8278# (advanced settings does work. Many volume settings can be adjusted here) I think I am going to stick with this firmware for now. |

What exaclty are the +'s and -'s on flashing your t809 o d820. And can it change the 1.3 camera to a higher mega pixel? Like the d900? Or even further can you flash your t809 to the d900? |

This is my 3rd or 4th try now. I still keep getting stuck at the same spot. My phone is fully charged. I've used a new 9V batteries twice. After I stop the hung attempts I've checked the battery on the phone and it still shows a high charge and even the 9V battery seems good, so I don't think the issue is with power. I just found another computer with a serial port (which isn't an easy task in this day and age), so I'm about to try this yet again. But I am also very curious if anyone has run across this problem and gotten around it. |

And since USB is powered, there's no need for the extra 9V battery you need to attach with the serial cable. |
