I can't find phantomgsm on. Is there another way i can get a hold of a flash cable or maybe even a simple way of making my own flash cable (someone mention before) reply please. NOMORE VIBE THEN RING PLEASE.

Also, i read that you're able to view .doc files, i was wondering if you're able to alter them as well and save them. that would be awesome. let me know!

I got my cable from awexinc on ebay. I have no problem with my cable.

here's a link to one:

Hey, I noticed that if I set a animated gif with lots of frames as wallpaper it only plays the first 10 frames or so. This is only when I set it as wallpaper, it plays fine in the file manager. Is this the case with all D820 firmware or is it a result of the modded firmware I just installed?

Thanks

I am a newbie and have a question for you. The link to the download above, how does that software differ from the ISO download link posted a bunch of posts above? Is it generally the same thing just packaged differently?

I see that the ISO file is about 75MB while the software on Cellphoner is 45MB with the Onenanddownloader. Is this completely different flash?

Posted by: chineseflyrice

The website was a little slow, but it works though, I did a flash on it and I love it! oh yea, does anyone know how to turn off the dim when it's charging? thanks andrusk!

The Cellphoner.net software is Zipped. Unzip it, and the CLA + TFS files are a little over 72 MB.
It is the same, and it is for a full flash.

Hello Guys, I found a lot of information to flash the T-90x into D820 and vice-versa but I already have the D820 and I just want to change somethings on cell phone like photos in full screen, sms tone, etc and is just to use the OneNAND file or I will need the 9v serial cable?

I found the D820XEFF1.rar with a lot of .SMP files iside this RAR. It looks like that it is one SMP for each function that I want to change on my cell phone, but the OneNAND just have the options .BIN/CLA and .TFS to download into the cellular.

I found the D820XEFF1_-_V2.rar that is a .CLA that is a package of SMPs that I can use. THE QUESTION is= Having a D820 (original - not flashed) will will need to use the Serial 9V battery cable to upload/download the .CLA into may cellphone?

Could anyone help me and send e-mail to pascoalato@gmail.com ? Thanks.

Everyone has this problem it looks like. I posted a solution at the bottom of the first post in the thread here:

Hey Guys.. Sorry for maybe duping this post on http://www.cellphoner.net/samsung/7...820-thread.html.

But i am having 2 issues and wondering if you guys can help.

a) My Bluetooth keeps hanging there when i press activate.. It will freeze like that untill i slide down the phone. When i go back into bluetooth it says its already active, but its not. Everyime i try to search Devices it asks me Would you like to turn on Bluetooth.. and then says its already active... weird..
I flashed t809 to FC1 > Fc3 + added the D820 update patch.

b)I used to have free internet when i flashed to FC1 (i didnt get t-mobile data plan). I had no settings.. then i flashed to FC3 and inputted settings from T-mobile website (received SMS that asked me accept settings). and now i lost access... The only website i can go to is T-moble WAP. Everything else says you are un-authorized.. I deleate all settings and it says "Unable to reach Host"

Should i go back to FC1 and at least fix my internet? Can i go back to FC1 from FC3 w/o screwing my phone? any ideas on bluetooth?

Is there another reset of all phone settings except "Reset phone settings" (in the settings menu)

Posted by: sliderninja13

If anyone has successfully backed up thier cla and tfs files from thier t809 could you please send them to me I would to have them on hand in case something happens to my screen again on my phone the last one I had was flashed to a d820 and the screen quit workin so I had to send it back to t-mobile. I want these files so in case this ever happens again I can simply make it a t809 again and send it back. Please respond asap!!!

So what is the final say on 2GB cards in the flashed phone? Does it work?

Is there any patch to custom configure the center button on the phone? Or is it always stuck as WAP

I don't think there is a way to change the middle button unless you hex edit the cla file, which I have no idea how to do. I haven't heard any success stories about 2gb card either, the 1gb cards work great though.

I think the reason people have ignored your post is because that question has been asked many, many times in this thread and with a little searching you would find the answer.

But luckily for you, I do happen to have a copy of the t809 flash bin file. But be warned, I have never tried to use it so I can not verify that it works, . I obtained it from some other forum 'just in case' and have never had to try and use it. Hopefully you won't have to either, but just in case... here it is.

btw:Chill out man, it's only been two days since you asked your question. Most people don't spend all day on the site waiting to answer the same questions over and over again

Hey guys, I flashed the new update to my t809 which already had the fc1 update.. I only selected Bin and I pressed don't auto nand format ran it.. it all went well until I tried to make a call.. I have no service anywhere.. I can have 5 or 6 bars but it still says "limited service"... Is there any way I can fix this? Thanks in advance

Posted by: andrusk

Hmmm, that's weird. A guy I work with and myself both have the FC1 firmware and we flashed with the update and neither us of have run into any problems. Maybe you should try flashing back to a regular firmware and see if that fixes your problems, or to the firmware that the update is originally from. Otherwise, I don't know what to tell ya.

Posted by: sliderninja13

ok so after I flashed my t-809 to d-820 i seem to have lost my t9 for texting. I have done this flash in the past to my old t-809 before the screen quit workin and I had to send it back I had none of these problems. However this time the only thing I did different was instead of flashing with the fc1 firmware I used the fc1 tfs and then the patch version 2 cla from freezerfire with the black listing feature. Once I realized that I was missing the ability to not use t9, mute the keypad, and edit the dialing display I reflashed with both tfs and cla fc1. This didnt fix anything until I did the reset on the phone which finally fixed the dialing display and muted keypad problem, however I am still missing my t9. Can anyone help, becuase I am stumpted. I was thinking maybe uncheck the dont auto nand format in order to erase any possible remaining effects form the flash the first time, but I am unsure if auto nand format ruins the phone if unchecked does anyone know about this too??? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Posted by: andrusk

Interesting, so you can confirm that the T9 was working when you're phone was a D820 before you flashed to the freezefire mod? Maybe what I would recommend doing is to flash to the original FC1 firmware, the tfs and cla, and then flash with the new cla afterwards.

Posted by: sliderninja13

sweet i got it all fixed I did a lot of playin with the pound button during my text and fixed it I held it down a few times and it finally went into t9 mode im really happy now but thanks for the advice anyway!! If anyone else has a problem similar to this go ahead and ask and Ill try and help the best I can!!!

Posted by: A Casual Savage

How can I fix my IMEI because I can't use my phone at all anymore, I flashed it back to Fc1 from the v2 (blacklist) update because I had a problem with seeing "limited service" everywhere and this didn't solve my problem, I believe the problem is my IMEI isn't crackin' anymore.. so does anyone know how I can fix that? Anyway besides paying for an NS-Pro?

Posted by: Slim Sal

I had the same problem about the T9 and yeah if you hold down the star key while in a txt message mode it changes from ABC to T9...

First I wanted to say thanks to Andrusk and all the others posting on this site. I flashed my t809 to 820 and its doing all i wanted and expected. No issues with the flash install at all - flawless - Thanks again to all.

2 questions and i couldnt find the answers searching.

My previous volume side button would mute any incoming calls. can someone tell me what the new button is to mute an incoming call ? ive pressed all of them and they dont work. the setting under phones/incoming calls is set to MUTE for the volume button. my side button simply lowers and raises the sound. it also lowers to 0 so i guess i could just lower it to that and then turn it back up - but thats a pain

second - ive been having a problem with outgoing calls ringing, and then connecting to my callees, but they cant hear me and i cant hear them. if i hang up and call back it will then work fine. ive only had this issue after the flash. and it also occasionally happens when someone calls me. just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

i used the fc1 flash and the update

otherwise im eccstatic over the phone

thanks all again

First of all, Andrusk, great information. Sorry about the pre-mature PM. Didn't realize there were 30 more pages of information to read!

Second, has anyone using a mac been successful with flashing their t809 to d820? I am on a macbook pro, and obviously, this laptop does not have a serial port.

Which brings me to my third question. Obviously, since flashing requires a serial port, and since MBPs have no serial port, I won't be flashing my phone any time soon. Would anyone in the greater Seattle, WA region be willing to help me out at all? I'd be gladly willing to pay you for your help! PM me if so. =D

P.S. For anyone wondering, I used to have the T-Mobile service, therefore the t809. However, I just recently joined Cingular, but before I switched over, asked for the unlock code from T-Mobile. They willingly gave it to me, I punched in the info, and now my phone works with my Cingular SIM card. However, I still want the d820 firmware on my t809. =P

Posted by: andrusk

Don't worry about it man.

However, i do know that you can flash your phone using a uart usb cable, that is one that can use serial port emulation software. I don't know where to get one though, but i'm sure if you search hard enough you could find one for the T809. And I don't know of any mac software that you can use to flash your phone, there might be some out there, but I don't personally know of any. Good luck getting your phone flashed though, you'll love it when you do.

Interesting. I just may have to start looking around. If i get desperate enough, I will probably just install Windows on my mac on a seperate partition and use that usb serial emulator. Thanks a bunch Andrusk.

By the way, if there is still anyone out there in the Seattle area willing to help me out, let me know! Installing windows is a pain. =P

Posted by: skim325

Well after 2 minutes of researching, I found the emulator you were talking about.

http://tinyurl.com/yq6z7o

Seems to be a pretty decent one. However, it requires Windows, and is $28. How much is the serial cable used to flash the firmware?

This might get to be a bit expensive. T.T

Posted by: SkyFlyer

Does anyone have a flash cable that they don't need anymore? If so, could you please throw it up on e-bay and I will buy it from you. I'd appreciate it if you included a cd of the flashing software.

Posted by: Waidada

extremely stumped. I got the cable half yr ago, finally pull the trigger to do it, and...

I flashed my phone 4 times and it seems not to be working..

first time-FC1 menu not showing right, don't have Chinese-which is why i want to flash it
2nd time-FE1 missing a file in the bundle
3rd time-FD1 flash stopped in the middle
4th time D828ZMFD1-transfer of tfs stopped in the middle

after the 4th time i got so tired of it... phone turns on and maybe missing a few pictures, I could live w/ that.

BUT, it can't find my WEP200 that use to work flawlessly before any flashing. Please help!

Posted by: x4158

I recently flashed my t809 to the d820 and really like the 'fixes'... google maps works fine, but I was having a problem with Opera working so I did a LOT of Googling and found that the problem is with the use of port 8080, I read that changing it to 9201 would work so I gave it a shot and it DOES in fact work on t-mobile! I've seen a lot of threads with people saying it can't be worked around for various reasons, but mine IS working after changing from port 8080 to 9201... this is with Opera 3.1, the new beta is NOT working, but I haven't messed with it much...

try this simple change and see if it works for you

Posted by: ardec1

I flashed my T809 to the T820 firmware and everything worked great for about a week.

Now the phone is stuck in an endless cycle where it comes up to the Samsung screen but instead of booting up it goes in to an endless cycle where the screen lights up and then turn back off over and over again.

It sounds like it is some kind of a bootloader problem.

Anybody else experienced that problem.

I just flashed my T809 to D820 tonight and I couldn't be happier
Here are some details I wanted to share.

bought the SAMSUNG USB UNLOCK DATA CABLE SGH D800 D900 T809 T629 T from AweXInc on ebay on 7/27 and it got here today, 7/31. He emails the driver for the cable to you.

Used OneNANDDownloader_v18_Lite and D820XAFC1.
[NOTE: For the USB cable you can/should set the port speed to 921600.]

The .bin took approx 8 min.
The .tfs took approx 16 min.
Total time: 24:28 (Much faster than the speeds reported for using the serial cable)

Then I updated using D820XEFF1_freezefireMod_v2.bin.

This took 9:31

Played with it the last hour adjusting settings and loading the following:

Opera mini
Google Maps
Flurry mail

All appears to be working great so far.

As noted elsewhere I believe, the gmail app does not work. It causes the phone to shut off. This is why I am using Flurry. It gives you gmail plus quite a bit more anyways.

Off to play somemore now

EDIT: Nevermind I did a workaround.

My T809, each time i turn it on it saying wrong card, I have to enter *2767*3855# and waite for about a minute for my phone to work

Posted by: roninep

Hey all

Have flashed 3 phones before and they worked fine. Went to reflash another one and the tfs file keeps freezing at 75% or so. New batteries, etc. so thats not the prob.

Decided to simply flash it back to the T809. Heres my question.
I have the bin file for a t809, and the cla and tfs files for the D820. I tried
to flash with the bin file only, and it took but the phone wont boot up past
the first t809 screen. Do I need something else besides the bin file to flash
back to the t809? I know the bin and cla are the same - so do I also need a
t809 tfs file too ? Can I use the d820 tfs on top of the t809 bin ?

Also, if there are any websites that go into detail about the bin, cla, tfs etc I would be happy to read them ?

Thanks
Ed

Hi,
I am also thinking about flashing my t809. My phone freezes very frequently. I believe flashing the software will solve this problem. If not, how can I switch it back to t809? does any one have the t809 firmware? any help will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Z

Posted by: kevn00

why would you wanna switch back to t809? if both firmwares freeze up.. you might as well keep the d820 firmware because its so much better. well i liked it sooo much better and i thought it made my phone 10x better.

Posted by: misha24

Well I have a quick question. I am not a newb but new to the Samsung Flash area. I just got the T809 of ebay. It was locked to T-mobile so I followed the *2767*3855# and other number codes and was able to use my cin/att sim card and make calls. I ordered a regular usb cable for the t809 and was wondering if I can just use that to flash it to the d820 firmware. I have flashed Motorola's but never a Samsung so that is why I am asking what might be a basic or easy question.

Also any links would help.

thanks

mike

yeah im in the same situation as you. i have the OneNAND program, and the FC1 firmware, but i cant track down this iso anywhere.
the cable i got however looks noting like what all of you are describing, i have a cable with an ethernet plug on one end, and a plug for the phone's power/data port on the other end. will this work?

Hi, I'm having a problem with my phone.

I've flashed the phone and installed the update. Everything worked ok but if I were to copy images from my memory card to my phone memory, I couldn't access them later using Downloaded Images. Clearly, the images were in fact being copied over because if I tried to copy them over again, it would ask me if I wanted to overwrite the existing file. So, the file was there; it's just that the menu couldn't see it.

So I decided to flash the phone again and install the update. I flashed the phone and checked to make sure that went fine and it did. However mid-way through the downloading of the update into the phone, the progress meter stopped.

So I unplugged the phone and tried to turn it on but it wouldn't turn on. Then I plugged it into the AC charger and then tried to turn it on -- still nothing. It's been charging for quite some time now and it's still unresponsive and won't power on.

Can you help? I love my phone [it's the 4th T809 I've owned]. I'd hate to think I'd have to replace it [again].

Thanks heaps.
Son

Hi, I have a question. I recently bought a 807 that was already flashed to d820, however none of the little fixes I want are available. I checked the H/W S/W and dev version and this is what I got:

S/W: ED820.03
H/W: REV1.2
dev version: D820XEFG3

My question is what (if possible) firmware version can or should i update to? I've gone through this forum and it really it great!

Thanks for all your help

I have the D820
DEV Version D820DXFE1
I have read through this thread several times, "pretty interesting"
my question is that my phone does not have all the updated features like large pics. extra battery bars, picsel option and so on. I downloaded the D820XEFF1 file from freezefire and wanted to know if it is the file that will install the updates or if not what is the latest flash?

I'm having problems, even after flashing, with "Limited Service"

Anyone have any ideas?

Now, all you need to flash your SGH-T809 to the SGH-D820 firmware is the flash cable from phantomgsm on ebay, or to make your own. And to download the .iso file I created.
Once you have these two things, you can either mount the .iso file using a program like daemon tools http://daemon.alphabravo.org/daemon403-x86.exe or you can burn it to a cd.

Once the cd is mounted or burned, it will autoplay and a batch file will walk you through the process of flashing your phone. If it does not autorun, just open the disc in my computer and select open "run.bat"

If you guys have any problems, post them here. Also, let me know what you think!

Here is the link for the .iso file

p.s. this is the FC1 firmware, and it will erase you IMEI number.

I'm sorry if this has been reposted, but I went through the last 3-5 pages and didn't see it there, but...

Would anyone have the .iso file listed here and would be willing to reupload it?

I've always loved the look of the T809, but hated how I couldn't use Opera Mini or mp3 ringers and I just found this post about flashing it.

If anyone could, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I'm looking to do the same but every single link in this 16 page thread is dead. Even the other 22 page has all dead links as well. Hopefully someone still has these files.
