Welcome to the world of Treo! be forewarned- I am a nerd, so if the language I use is too techy, please tell me & I'll explain it more simply.

1. Do not use Ringo. It is terrible. Use mRing instead. People will argue with me I'm sure, but I have tried every ringtone app there is & Ringo just sucks. I tried it once, and it immediately crashed my phone. mRing has never caused ONE reset.

2. Hop over to mytreo.net & download FileZ. That is what I use to install 99.9% of my apps. Put the PRC files on your card via card reader, and then use fileZ to copy(NOT move) them over to ram & you should be good to go.

3. If nothing happens when you hook it up to your PC, check if the Hotsync manager is running & "usb connection" is selected in the menu. If it's running, you should see a little hotsync symbol in the system tray.

4. You don't need anything to open the programs, just tap the icon on the screen.

Assassin, I have just used your FileZ method of installing 3rd party apps and want to know what the advantage to doing it this way is as opposed to just hotsync'ing the apps? Does it save space on the divice?

No, its just easier, faster, and saves you the PITA of hotsyncing

how is taking the sd card out, dropping and dragging files from the pc to the sd card, reinserting the sd card, dropping and dragging the files from the sd card to the treo with FileZ EASIER than pressing the hotsyncing wirelessly with bluetooth or a cable that's on conviently on my desk.
