Has anyone found an mp3 player that works on the moto e815? im fed up with the builtin player that keeps crashing when i load up a decent size playlist. And even if it does load it sometimes takes 30-60 sec before it will play. Can anyone help? or suggest a replacement if there is one.

Has anyone had the same problem at least?

Sorry, I haven't really used the MP3 player much. But now that I'll be getting a 1GB microSD card from Future Shop for $50, I guess I'll start making more use of it.

My question is the jack in the top there for headphones, that doesn't use the standard connection does it? I think I tried a pair in the past and it wouldn't fit. Did you need anything special?

hey, no it is a 2.5mm four pole connector, you need a 2.5mm - 3.5mm adaptor (or cable) STEREO. If you get mono... well then you wasted money. So that you can use regular headphones or an fm transmitter for your car. Or you can use teh headphones that come with it. Thier ok...Can you help me out with the internet on it. When i download an mp3 in opera it takes me to the mp3 player but it doesn't actually play it. I posted it in another thread too. Do you know why it does this? As well do you know anything about the a2dp profile, can it be enabled or installed or something?

When i bought mine from Bell it came with a stereo headset (ei. normal headset, but with two earbuds) i've always used that. It works well, but i have noticed that its starting to wear out. Getting crackly and crap. Apparently you can get an adapter so you can use normal headphones but you have to unplug them before making/receiving a call.

I am really getting pissed off at these bugs tho. It seems now that i've been messing around with it, that some files will make a playlist crash. Might be the encoding or something.
I made a 14 song playlist, then added 1 or 2 more and it wouldn't play, so not even a full album will work sometimes. And also you can't just play then entire list of songs because it will play only one at a time, then you need to go in and choose the next one.

(ok, i'm ranting now...)

ANOTHER THING is that the "catagories" (ie, folders) won't always work. Sometimes when i move an Mp3 into a different folder it will disapear. It will still take up the space on the card, but won't be visible by the phone. I'm not sure if you can still see it when you read the card in a SD card reader, i'll have to check that.

This is why i was hoping someone had found a java mp3 player for the e815. A buddy of mine has a different Moto from Rogers and his comes pre-loaded with a player. Maybe they got smart after all the f***ing bugs on this one!

Where is the MP3 player ?? I just posted the same question. I can not even find a MP3 on my phone ( E815 )

Posted by: clewis4u91

That's probably because you don't have any songs on your phone, which is why you don't see any mp3's.

So your saying once I download my first song then the MP3 player will be available ??

There's no "dedicated" application for playback, it's kind of built into the phone's OS. Basically when you have content on the phone, the option to play shows up and you click it.

Ok this is what I have discovered regarding the built in MP3 player. I have 41 songs on my 256 MB transflash card. But only 22 show up. This is an ongoing problem. I contacted verizon, and they had no clue. They gave me motorolas number, and they advised that the phone will only reconize mp3's that are in the 64 kbps-128kbps range. However, I have checked, and all of my mp3's that are on my phone are in that range when its in the card reader for the computer. But still not visiable on phone. While the MP3 is not going to break my opinon o fthe phone, it is a good phone that I have found out, but I may switch back to an LG or Samsung phone next time around.

Ok, I have found the answer to my own post. Try renaming the MP3 with less than 20 characters including spaces.

The Motorola OS only supports upto 37 characters max and I think that's included the extension. Try shortening the filenames to just the song title.mp3

Ive had no problems with either the bitrate or the file name when playing single files. That might be the problem with the playlist tho, ill have to check that.

...also, the only time ive had trouble with files disappearing is when i use folders

I was just looking at the music files i currently have on my phone and they all seem to be larger than 128kbps... they all play fine when i play them individually, but not when i load them in a playlist. So the e815 will recognize higher bitrate files....

I've had all the same problems as you guys. The files will load to the trans card but wont appear on the phone due to filenames and such. Also the playlist doesnt work for *****. My question was, is there a way to load any new mp3 playing software on the E815. I noticed someone mentioning a Java program, but i dont understand how would you load an new application on the phone.

Yeah, thats why i started this thread, to find out if there was a replacement mp3 program for the e815, but obviously no one knows, or there isn't one...

As for loading programs and games onto the phone, check out Anemic Royalty's website, it has all the guides for doing that.

...puting the application on the phone isn't the hard part. The hard part is finding the application to put on there.

I can live with the bugs on the current player, but it would be so much better if there were a replacement that didn't crash all the time...
