Hello this is my first time here! Thanks for any feedback, seems like a pretty cool forum.

I am preparing to mod my V3 Cingular branded phone and have two specific questions.

I moved to Brazil recently and unlocked the phone and put in an Oi SIM (with post pay service). I unlocked with the subsidy unlock code given to me from Cingular.

1. After entering all of the Web Sessions data and checking twice with the provider (Oi) I still can't connect. Notes: Data Server not available

would this perhaps be a problem with the browser files? (that Cingular loaded on the phone) Would it solve my problem to load a browser such as Opera Mini?

2. I noticed that right after I changed the SIM the phone kinda smells like ozone...

It seems to be working fine but sure does smell like it wanted to fry.....has this ever happened to anyone? I guess it could be due to the use of a new freq.?

I look forward to visiting Howards more often!

Hello Ohio, yeah I changed the sim and the phone smells kinda funny...as if it might be running hot. Maybe when the phone was unlocked (at the time of sim replacement) the signal strength was liberated to full power...I dunno...just a thought.
