M600i Charging Question

For those of you with an M600i: Does your screen stay on (dimmed mind you) when you are charging? It's really annoying......why doesn't the dang thing turn off?! Won't that reduce the lifetime of the LCD? And I charge it on my bedside table while I sleep so the light keeps me awake!
Anyone else notice this?

I don't think mine kept the backlight on while charging using CDS-60 (the charger table stand)... Not sure though...

Mine definitely doesn't when it's booted, but powered off, the backlight is on (although it is significantly dimmed).
As for keeping you up at night, flip it over on its face!
