My Phone Doesn't Show up on "My Computer"

So i just got the phone the Slider Remix (kx5) from Alltel, and i installed the cd, and plugged the USB Cord in, it wont show up in the "My Computer" ... However i found the Phone showing up under the 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers' and someone said to me it should be under the 'Ports'

Ah.... help plz ??

Go To Settings, then USB Storage, then Enable. This is the only way you can transfer files from your computer to your phone.. Thats probably why its not showing in my computer..

ya i do that, and its still not showing up..

oo what is this formatting on the phone mean ?? do i have to do that to make it work ??

Yeah, Im pretty sure I formatted mine right before I put stuff on it so you might try that..

or you might just wanna invest in a external memory card reader and you wouldnt even have to worry about connecting your phone

would formatting your phone erase all info stored on it? contacts, etc?

You dont format your phone, you format the card thats in the phone. When you format the Card, it will erase whats on the phone but it wont touch whats saved on the phone.
