Are there any stores for HTC products?

I want to be able to hold these phones in my hand. It's really hard for me to decide based off pictures and reviews. Anyone know the closest store to me, if they exist. I live in Southwest Missouri.

The only place you might see an HTC phone would be a Cingular store and maybe a T-Mobile store. They both carry re-badged HTC phones as the Cingular 8125/2125 and the TMobile MDA/SDA.

Verizon and Sprint also both carry a variant of the 8125/MDA, but w/ the nub antenna sticking out...but it's basically the same device...but there is no CDMA variant of the 2125/SDA.

If you are looking for any other HTC phones (strtrk, jamin variants, other newer phones, etc), they only exists via online retailers and you'll have to most likely buy one and return it if you don't like it.

I've not seen where anyone over the last year or so has posted that they've found a retailer w/ a physical location that carries i-mate, qtek, or dopod products here in the states.

That's a shame. I would really like to hold a qtek 8310 and a startrek, and compare them side by side. Spending $400 plus on a cell phone may be no big deal to some of you, but it's not easy for me. At least not on a product that I am not able to hold and look at.

What is stopping someone from opening up a store for HTC products in the US? Has anyone ever looked into this? If HTC makes most of the WM phones out there, it would make sense to have some shops somewhere. (NYC, Chicago, LA)

they arent popular enough here to warrant it.

There are some shops in NY that have a few Imate phones. If you head down to china town, and the Lower east side.

i usually get a functional ROI when I spend on a phone that's this expensive...but $400-$500 is still alot for my budget as well...but w/ the return policies of some places, especially expansys from what I've read...you can get away w/ a purchase then a return...particularly if you order two and return one, and just pull them out of the box and take a look at the phone w/o messing up the packaging.

if you want a feel for WM5, just check out any WM5 smartphone, there isn't going to be 2 cents worth of difference...any Cingular owned retail store should have a 2125 in it by now you'd think...

i have to agree on the store and popularity issue though...WM is not that popular b/c of the overall complexity that most folks don't need...even w/ a contract you are looking at a high price for a WM or Symbian phone, and most folks don't need it...corporate purchases are typically made in bulk and/or by a user that already knows they need a particular functional component, so carrying stock in something so expensive just isn't worth it for anyone...they aren't going to sell any of them.

outside of these online forums...i know 3 people w/ WM phones...ME, the guy that bought my SMT5600, and another guy i've worked with on occasion that has the Sprint PPC variant of the Wizard...and those 2 people are w/in a 300 mile radius of me...so not much of a market I'd say.

it's coming though...HTC and the VZW Q will both kick the market up w/ regard to WM device ownership...

Would they be more popular, if people knew more about them? I bet if you opened up some kiosks in big malls located in big cities, (like Dell does), you would see more Americans shelling out money for these phones. We are at the mercy of our cell phone carriers here in American. I believe we are an untapped market. Americans love gadgets, and many will pay big money to have the lastest and greatest.

you are forgetting one major aspect that hylton dove in on...about 85% of america is absoluty ****ing retarded. they don't care about anything technical, they just want it to work. that's why they buy older nokias, or they buy moto's. unless people actually start caring about technology (and not just owning it), smartphones (wm or symbian) will NEVER be popular as they are overseas.

lmao...too funny...yea, i think alot of people just flat out don't want anything like this...even other developers and techy/geeky types that i work with like their razr phones, and have no interested in anything more powerful...which is fine i guess...but the more gadgets i own, the better...whether i actually use the features or not is irrelevant...in the case of a smartphone, i do use the features...but sometimes i don't...still, gotta have those gadgets...hehe...

but yea, i have to agree...85% of america (maybe more) are not interested in gadgets at this level...they just want a phone...
