Verizon KYO 7135 to Alltel PRL issue

Recently purchased a Kyocera 7135 off of ebay that was said to have been unlocked for Alltel. For all i knew it was working fine with alltel , because when i opened it the alltel logo panned across the screen and it loaded up. After having difficulty programming it for my alltel number over the phone the tech told me to go to the alltel store where the same thing happened and little progress was made. Finally i got it working in my number but it is constantly searching for service. I have the SID that they provided me with. The thing that's sad is that when i try to update my PRL it takes me to a verizon wireless menu and im assuming that this is because this was originally a verizon activated phone. If anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.

Which version PRL is currently loaded in the phone? Where are you located?
