hi
i am new here but i need help.
i have a sharp GX15 and just found out yesturday that you can get extended video on it.
i posted on another board and some guy said that some service providers block certain features.
i have unblocked the phone and can use any sim card in it but it still wont appear.
you are supposed to goto Camera-record video-options and there is meant to be Record mode and you can select MMS or extended.

with mine always on MMS you can only record 15 secs.

does anyone have a sharp GX15 on Vodafone tell me if you can get this option.

does anyone know how to get it enabled.

hope someone can help me here

I don't know who told you that because it's not true. GX15 only records little MMS video and nothing more.

it was in the manual on the sharp website.
there is the little symbol with a piece of film with an envolope on which in the manual means MMS mode but it says you can get change it to extended video where it just shows a piece of film.
it says once extended video is activated the option of 'send and save' after recording disappears.

but it does say in the GZ100 manual that its only available with certain service providers

its wierd but i read it in the manual not been told off anyone.

Probably firmware-based. Research what firmwares are available for it.

thing is i dont have a data cable so there is no way to flash my phone.

i found a firmware file where it takes all the annoying logos off,the camera and video shutter sounds and loads of other cool stuff but i have no way of putting them on.

i was hoping you could do it through bluetooth but you cant can you.

Ok I read the section in the manual, and I'll tell you why they wrote it that way.

The GX15 can be set to limit the size of MMS between two different sizes: 30KB and 100KB. If you set the size to 30KB, when you record video you'll have the option of two lengths: MMS (30KB) and Extended (100KB). But if your MMS size is set to 100KB, then MMS and Extended lengths are the same, therefore the option is hidden.

So in the end the GX15 doesn't record videos larger than 100KB.

its only fone mem so it has no extended vid and vid is special made for mms only

ok thanks guys for your help.
yeah you were right it was because MMS was set at 100KB when i put that 30KB extended video appeared.
