Outlook email on Cingular 8125

I use the Outlook email on my Cingular 8125 and also Outlook Express on my laptop. Because I get a high volume of emails, I have my Outlook Express on the laptop set to delete messages from the server after 2 days. So when I get an email, the 8125 checks the server, retrieves the message, and everything is fine even if I've already read it on the laptop. HOWEVER, 2 days later when the message is deleted from the server by Outlook Express, the next time the 8125 checks for emails, it will delete it from the device.

Is this normal? Is there a setting I can change to make sure that once an email is downloaded to my 8125, it stays there until I manually delete it?

Thanks for the help.

go to the pocket pc forum, this is the smartphone forum!!!

OK, relax buddy...I saw "microsoft smartphone" and thought it would apply. So if I go there will you answer my question or not?

this isn't the forum to ask, so no i wont answer your question. the 8125 is a pocket pc phone, not a smartphone. you wouldn't ask your question in the motorola or even verizon forum would you?

*edit*

i'm not trying to be a ****, i'm just trying to do some moderation, seeing as how you never see any mods here. if everyone posted where they wanted, it would make for a very messy and crappy forum.

I posted in the other forum.

Maybe someone should then edit the forum titles, because since the 8125 is a Microsoft-based PDA, I assumed that the "Smartphone/PDA > Microsoft Smartphone" forum would be an appropriate place to post the question.

Now, if you know the answer to my problem, would you mind please answering it for me over in the Pocket PC forum, because the issue is driving me nuts and causing me a lot of headaches.

Thanks.

teh sigh...i don't use OE, i use outlook 2007, but when it's hooked to my gmail account, and i delete an e-mail there, it doesn't delete it off the server, it keeps it there. however, i have my gmail forwarding to my exchange account with 4smartphone, so i'm not 100% sure. it "shouldn't" delete it off the phone though, unless it's a hotmail account, as mine does.

The question applies to either a PDA or smartphone. Just change "8125" to "2125" and ask the same question. The 2125 is a smartphone so it's ok to ask here and since the behaviour would be the same the answer would be the same.

I'm not sure what the big deal is where when the issue is valid for either platform.
