Disable clicking noise while scrolling on SP5?

I noticed that on the 8310, when you scroll using the joystick there is no clicking noise. However, on the SP5 there is. I'm sure it's just set up differently on the different ROMs. Is there a setting, or more likely a reg hack, that will disable JUST the audible feedback when scrolling in IE or the start menu, that will not disable all system sounds? Thanks.

Well if you go to Settings -> Sounds -> Keypad Control and set it to "None" you can turn of the keypad sounds for the entire phone. Is that what you mean?

Looking to disable only the clicking that happens with you scoll using the joystick. For instance, you go to the start menu and start scrolling down, it clicks as it scrolls and highlights each program. Same thing when scrolling in IE. On the 2125 and 8310 this doesn't happen. So, it might be something different in the ROMs. My hope is that someone knows a reg edit that will diable the clicking.

Will killing the keypad sounds also stop sounds assocated with the joystick?

Yes it will - why don't you try it?

What's with the rolling eyes? I don't have an SP5 at the moment. I only have a 2125 which already does not make the clicking sound. Do you need a rolling eye smiley thrown back at you for making assumptions? Regardless, thanks for the help. At least that's one option available.

You can find it in the registry which Cingular and Qtek I noticed did a little differently than I-mate. You should be able to goto Tone in your Settings/Sounds menu and get rid of the clicking while keeping the DMTF tones on your phone. But Imate keeps the keypresses in Tone setting. Anyhow, you can find it in the registry;

HKCU/Control Panel/Sounds/and then I think Keypresses

Just delete the value data under Sound to see if it fixes it. If not then reeneter the Deleted value data and try something else but it is in there.

That's great. My SP5 arrived today, so I'll try it out. Thanks to both of you for the suggestions.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you purchase your SP5 from? I'm currently bidding on one on eBay.

I bought it from johnnybakarat.

Also, dwest218 you were right. Selecting Tone in Sounds eliminated the clicking without disabling all the keypad sounds. Thanks.
