Even on Esato ppl are reporting restarts, lock ups, and more about the m600i. I'm honestly thinking about trying to get a refund or sell the phone off and go back to a ppc :-\

Better yet, put it in the hands of non-tech savvy business travelers, who require e-mail on the go (the target market), and check for seamlessness.

-Exchange ActiveSync issues: incomplete synchronization of calendar and contacts, duplicate entries in calendar, bad Symbian request error (-6) causing constant sync failures, e-mail sync of e-mails I have already opened and read (but not deleted) -anybody else notice there is no way to create phone profiles with different ringtones (meeting, outdoor, etc.)? -time changes periodically even though I have set my home time zone to San Jose (Central America) |

- Slowness on simple tasks such as opening Contacts or Messaging - Incoming SMS show phone number only, even when I have a contact with the number - One night the screen was completely blank and I couldn't do anything until I pulled the battery and replaced - Sometimes the "new SMS" icon will remain after I have checked/read all new SMS - If an email comes in while you are typing an SMS, you're screwed and everything locks up until you pull the battery out - There is a setting for the "Power Save" where you select how long before the screen turns off... regardless of setting, it always turns off in about 20-30 seconds - Predictive text doesn't work well when using the keyboard, its always faster to just type the word rather than scrolling through the list of possible words, pressing Enter, then pressing Space (a space after the word is not automatic) - If you set an alarm, and the phone is on silent, the alarm will only vibrate... really poor decision for things like alarm clocks for work. - No volume soft keys, you have to pull out the stylus anything to do anything but mute/unmute There are just so many problems that you would think the Control Panel would have an option (or working option) for but don't. I bought the phone for $435 and for that price I should have a more user friendly UI. |

always leave the phonebook, and message apps open in the background this will reduce the wait time dramitically. (it's a symbian thing.. s60 is the same) the scroll wheel can incease/decrease the volume during a call. |

With the exception of some problems with the Exchange Activesync software, and the fact that I don't sync mine with a PC (and Apple's iSync doesn't yet support it), mine has been 100% reliable. My P910i that it replaces was very good, but it seemed to have occasional problems where I had to repair bluetooth headsets etc. The M600i has had no such problems so far. I wonder if a lot of the reported problems are due to bugs that have been sorted in the latest firmware. Would the hardware vary I wonder?

If I change the time, turn the phone off and on, it is reset to 'on' at 6:30. I have the most recent firmware. ?????? Chris |

My phone was purchased in Hong Kong due to a shortage in the UK 1. GPRS doesn't work (O2 UK) 2. Even though I've selected English as the language, cantonese and mandarine text input options remain. If I try to use the AWFUL handwriting recognition and accidentally switch to cantonese, it overrides the UK keyboard input and UK characters won't work. 3. My time zones keep switching, as a result the alarm that's supposed to wake me up gets reset and doesn't go back to it's original time: thanks UIQ3, for making me up a 1:45pm not 6:45am. 4. 3g and MP4 video playback is rubbish; takes about 3 minutes to start playing and stutters all the time. 5. MP3 ordering by NAME not track number; no album art; seems to mess up on VBR encoded mp3. 6. Java apps have uninstalled themselves after removing M2 card and putting in again. 7. SMS often thinks that a 60 char text will take 3 messages to send; and then sends even though I say NO do not send. 8. Changing the theme doesn't always result in all elements of the theme being changed. 9. Phone stops playing music if I leave the music player without going through task manager. None of these render the phone unusable, just make it unreliable and not worth the money I paid for it. |
