What does BES do that BIS does not?

Can someone give me a brief description of what I would be giving up if I went with BIS 2.0 instead of BES?
I have access to BES for work - but could also put the BIS exchange connector on a server running 24/7.
Using BIS would save me $15 a month in service fees from Cingular - but I wanna know what I lose.
Specifically - does the calendar, tasks and contacts sync w/ BIS? What happens to a meeting invitation sent to Outlook - if they do not sync?
Hope this makes sense - I just wanna know what the additional $15/ mo I would have to pay for BES buys me.
Thanks

BIS only forwards e-mail. It does not sync anything else. Meeting invitations appear as e-mails. No accept/reject.
BES e-mails are secure end to end. With BIS the messages you do not get the same level of security
BES allows you to enforce IT Policies - important for some companies (Sarbanes Oxley; HIPAA).
Stick with BES.

I would imagine that your BB server admin will want you to use the BES connection if you are going to connect to their server, plus it gets you all of the syncronization functionality that makes a blackberry different from just about any other phone out there.
