I recently got a new phone and I am selling my Sanyo 5150 and accessories on eBay. I did the reset within the phone and cleared out the phonebook, wall paper, ringtones, etc. that I had installed / customized. While my service is no longer active it is still assigned to the original phone number and if I try to place it call it says I will be charged x amount per minute.
My question is can I clear out the number and compeltely deactivate the phone? My main concern is that someone will make a call with it and Sprint will end up charging me since I had the phone service last.
So I wanted to know if anyone could tell me how to completely deactivate and clear my phone number or if there is no way I could be charged for any calls made on it then it should not be an issue.
EDIT: OK I just tried to go through with the call and it asks me to press 1 for a collect call or 2 to enter an american express card number - so it looks like I can't be charged for any calls made with it. I still would like to know if I could clear the number but not that big of a deal. I got a new number with my new phone / service as my old one was in the wrong area code as they had no numbers in my local exchange available at the time.
