Crooked Reps Watch Out!!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: VMV702

You've probably already heard, but they're gonna be auditing people with unusually high commish checks because it seems SOME reps have been removing features put on by others and re-adding them under their own code....tsk tsk tsk

To my knowledge it's for those who have done it for features originally added less than 6 months ago....also they will be looking for those who deleted features originally added by ACARE or ECARE and put them back on

Posted by: ivwshane

Good! Maybe that will bring feature numbers down to more realistic numbers.

TRUE man....it's getting ridiculous....They should have expected people to take short cuts with what they're expecting from us

Does this go for care as well? Its all too common to have a feature flipped by care. Of course I will flip it back. If there is a problem with it I think you know who would be getting a phone call.

Oh, and the new thing for credits and act. is to make the contract 1 year you have to manually change it. Guess what? You don't get paid for those.

They need a way for us to report these shady reps as well. Management doesn't care, since they benefit from it. ARSM... same. We need a contact to report this stuff to, since I myself see it all the time. It sucks when shady rep #1 has $26 features per op shady rep #2 has around $22 and #3 sitting around $19 and here is the good guy at around $12 and he is being made out to be the slacker just because he does things the legit way. Not only is it unethical and unfair, but it's enough to drive an honest worker out of the company.

not a shock, reps and sales reps do this all the time.

Exactly, they had better point that finger in both directions.

All I can say is I am glad to see some enforcement on the issue. I can't count the number of times I've had my grandfathered MEdia Works plan with 1500 SMS, 200 MMS, and unlimited data for $19.99/mo removed from my account. I would have to call CS almost every time I left the store because the idiots removed it and put the current, less beneficial plan on. It happened again just a few days ago, and now CS isn't even having any luck adding the old code anymore. It's even gone up to management, and they aren't having any success either, it always tells them they're unauthorized to add it. I have a feeling this is going to take a massive amount of work to add back this time. A big thanks to the moron in the store who did this, you can be assured that I will never set foot in your store again. Not that he'd care really, he's too busy screwing other customers anyway.

So did the customer service rep tell you it was a he that did it or are you assuming?

It was a he. He was the only person in the store I was dealing with.

How do you know he is the one changing it? Any rep in the telegence market can go into your account too.

Who else would have changed it? It was on the account before I walked in the store, and it was replaced when I left. I always check my account features online after I leave stores for this very reason. It seems highly unlikely that someone else would have randomly went into my account and done this between the time I left for the store, and the time I returned home. Even if it hadn't been him, and another random employee somewhere, the bottom line is it should not have happened. There is no excuse for that. I'm just glad to see the Cingular doing something about this, as no employee should be doing things like that.

I agree with you. But as a sales rep I would be offended if one of my clients automaticly assumed I did something like that without consulting with me about it. Either way, you should bring this up to the store manager so he/she could investigate it and remove the person in the event they are doing that. Letting it slide and calling care to fix it each time is not only counterproductive, but unfair to you and other customers, and to a person that would be willing to do that job honestly.

Oh, I would be offended too. I wouldn't just blindly accuse someone without at least some fact to support that claim. I may have sounded harsh in my original post, but after having it happen so many times it just gets extremely frustrating. A customer should be able to walk into a store and conduct business without having to worry about their account features being messed with unless requested. I have brought it up with store management in the past at a couple of locations, but both times I never heard back from them. I gave one of the CS agents I spoke with the store information from this latest incident and he said he would pass it on to someone to investigate, so hopefully something is done, but I doubt I'll ever hear the outcome of that. I don't think these dealers realize the amount of effort it can take to get these features back, or they just don't care. If they're going to remove a feature and re-add it, don't just blindly assume because the name of the feature is the same that you're adding on the exact same version of the feature. This is a pain for both employees and customers alike.

i have had stuff added before and had to call and get them removed, that sucks.

Pffft, may wanna just flesh that out to agents as well. There's one particular agent in the town I work who just LOVES dropping off features you've added and putting them right back on.

So of course we do it back because they were our features to begin with.

Yep happens both ways all the time.

1. blame cingular for their quotas on features.
2. and i thought only the indirect agent channel was bad and corp was NEVER EVER crooked. riiiight.....

Posted by: MissRich87

This happens all the time. Someone in my agents company flipped over $100 in verts. from my own family. I was checking my sisters account one day and noticed everything I had done in the past month was changed. I called everyone in my family and none of them had ever given permission to anyone to change anything! So I was deacted and that guy never got fired... shaddy shaddy

Look I really don't want to be rude here, but has any of you guy's ever thought of "meet us"ing the Office of the President, this thread with an explanation.

Sometimes a wake up can be discovering that they aren't the only ones that know about this whole in the Cingular army.

Quotas are never good. Our company just froze us from any type of past feature change. Thank god for new acts

If you know of a certain situation happening in your store that is unethical and against comp. policy there's a number you can call. it's the business ethics hotline and you can remain anonymous. you can find that number in CSP and My-Cingular.

i'm glad they're doing this as well. we don't have a problem in my store but there's a few in the market that have rediculously (sp?) high numbers and they can't all be legit. If they are, good for them but it doesn't seem like they could be. i don't think they should be awarded for shadyness if that's the case and so it should be audited.......

Posted by: Toothless Tommy

every store I have worked in there have been crooked reps . Crapular allows this to happen because it is a poorly run company that had to buy first place - couldn't earn it . soon it will be second place behind the Verizon machine .
The Mgrs and ARSM's and up all benefit from this adding of features so they look the other way on this .
Crapular even allows the stealing in the Charge Back area to occur on a daily basis - no wonder they cant keep most of their employees ?

Ever been to a district meeting ? It is a very depressed affair - mournful faces everywhere so much respect/love for the company I guess ?????????

I am a business care (orange) rep. I had a lady call in to remove feature from her husbands line. The husband is blind and the sales rep signed him up to roadside assistance, and every media package they could, without the blind guy knowing. Shame on that rep. Stop adding features without the customer knowing.

What exactly does this mean?

Posted by: Alfred_Neuman

i only screwed with agents who cost me chargeback on a feature i sold, but he went and deleated it to get paid.

so, i'd go into the system, look everything they did( anywhere from 4months till now, or just this week.) and then punish them by putting my codes in.

Cingular may know it's happening but does nothing because it isn't their problem and it's a net sum gain of them.

This situation is similar to whats happening to Cingular in regards to SS# in the dumpster, the first few times they said they would look into it but failed. So if many of you guy's complained to corporate and not to middle management it may get stopped.

This thievery wastes you're(the good ones) and Cingular's time and money and could get to be a real embarrassment for the whole carrier business. I don't think the general public needs to know how cut throat the business can be. They just want a phone without concerns of hijacking/adding features etc. The children doing this stuff without reporting it may want to find another job, they are damaging credibility and, IMO, clearly not worthy of their pay. I know it's less than before but it's still more than a lot of other options where they put you in jail for stealing.

Ill tell you what though, with the new Media Basic plan out im going change the old to the new until im blue in the face. Ill always talk to the customer about it though. Its a better deal. In fact ill probably try to do that with all the old features, except maybe the really old Media works pack. They are just more cost effective now.

There's really nothing wrong with that, that's just upselling for the most part. Anyone ever complained at me about that I'd laugh in thier face.
