What is the difference between the new $30 blackberry plan and the $45 one?

Posted by: NukuCamui

the 30$ one doesnt use the enterprise server.

^correct...more specifically...the $45 plan allows you access to BES (blackberry enterprise server) and BIS (blackberry internet solution) while the $30 plan only allows you access to BIS. The newest version of BIS allows up to 10 pop3 and imap e-mail accounts to be pushed to your blackberry device. This is mostly for individuals and smaller businesses who do not want to put out the money for the BES. The BES does full sync over the air including calendars while the BIS only syncs e-mail.

I understand that cingular intends users who plan on being on a BES to go with the 44.99 plan. But doesn't the 29.99 plan provision BLACKBERRY.NET in snooper? What i'm trying to say is, won't the 29.99 plan work just as well as the more expensive one if they're both provisioning the same APN? Unless something changed I would have thought that as long as BLACKBERRY.NET was provisioned, one would have access to RIM's data network, therefore allowing them to sync with a BES.....anyone?

i believe it will, i don't think their is any difference, other than they just try to market it as their needs to be a different plan for the BES because of the thought that one will more than likely use more data.

here is the real differance between the 29.99 and the 44.99 plans, they may look the same but on the RIM NOC they are not, one will only be provisioned for Blackberry Prosumer service, they other is provisioned for Prosumer/Enterprise. also with the new BIS 2.0 wap.cingular is also provisioned as well in the HLR
This is comeing from someone who deals with this everyday (Enterprise Data Help Desk support here)
