MM-8300 and CA-819 amp

Anybody here ever tried to use the CA-819 amp with their 8300? I have purchased that amp and cannot get it to amplify the 1900 MHz signal. It will only amplify 800 MHz. I am currently sending the amp back for testing. The guy said he's never seen one do that before, so he suspects my phone to be the problem. The amp is dual mode used with dual mode magnet mount antenna.
