When I select 30 seconds of the song I want the files still come out over the 300 kb limit for using the email trick. Is there a app that will reduce the size of the file but still maske it usefull for a ringtone. Phone is a Moto E815.

Thanks

audacity, it's free:

I like using Adobe Audition tho since it has other filters you could use to edit mp3s.

Change your encoding rates...

I use 48kbit/44khz/mono... and NONE of my Mp3 ring tones are OVER 300kbytes... and they all work

the biggest ringtone i have is 110kb on my phone... they sound pretty good, even at 32kbps/mono

I got Adobe Audition & it's working great. Just took me a day to figure it out, but once done it's a piece of cake.

that's what I use! I find that when you use the LPF: low pass filters, it prevents distortion on your ringtones. The many filters are pretty nice...it takes some experimenting with. I usually boost the midrange and slightly boost the highs, but I take out the bass!
