I bought a battery and desktop charger on eBay for $49.99 + $5.00 for USPS priority shipping and it works great. The battery is 1000mah instead of the stock 700mah but it appears to work great and allows extra standby time.

That $49.99 is a buy-it-now price which I feel is very fair for both battery & charger.

I think the deal was good. For $55.00 I had a high capacity battery and desktop charger in three days. They both work great and the guy was fast delivering. The eBay web site is as follows:

I get much longer out of this extended battery than the standard battery that came with the phone.

Sorry it seems the link is dead that I posted earlier. The battery is bigger since it has a higher capacity - it has a hump in the middle so it will not fit in my fitted Panasonic case. However, it lasts a lot better than the original. Just go to ebay.com and search for Panasonic gd87 and a battery/charger combination will pop up. The buy it now one with teh $49.99 cost is the one I got and I am very happy with it.

are you talking about the gd55 or the gd87 that you have?

When www.hktoyz.com officially opens you'll be able to buy one. I haven't done research on price yet, but it should be around $50 USD or so as well... I'll let you know.

teckno....sorry to be rude but u need to read the thread before you post...i know its an honest mistake,b ut we are talking about the panasonic gd55(small little phone) not the gd87(flip with colour screen and camera) that you have and are talking about. the gd87 uses the same charger as the allure series, but the gd55 does not. it usesing something simular to the sony ericsson charger........so just read before your post. thanks.......sorry again im not tring to be rude i just had to tell you
