V3 LCD problem

Hi there,
I've got this V3 silver Razr that has water damage... the LCD was working fine for the longest time until i opened it up to try and fix the keypad. Not only was i unable to fix the kaypad (the number 8 the * and # and left soft key dont work) but now the lcd doesn't turn on either. The phone still works but the LCD doesnt. I bought a new LCD screen and replaced it but still no change. does ANYONE know what the problem is and how i can fix it? Oh, and I've ordered a new keypad, does anyone have specific instructions on how to change it?
