Best Cingular phone? Reception/durability?

I'm not talking about features here, but durability and reception quality. I used to have an MPX220, great phone reception wise (after a flash to the asian rom) but durability was horrible... in fact I went through 3 of them. I recently got a samsung e317 for free from a friend at work, and honestly I wanna throw that thing against a wall and watch it shatter it sucks so bad for reception. It will drop calls like crazy! I'm looking into purchasing another phone, so I just wonder what everyone's opinions are for all the current phones on the market.

If you don't care about features or a nice screen, the 6010 is awesome. It is lightweight (is weighs less than my 6230, which is smaller), and it has incredible battery life and reception. Plus (the biggest reason to get it), you can disable AMR-HR voice codec. (It was the last Nokia made to do this...)

My SE W600i had great reception (always 4-5 bars). Of course my area has been known to get great service though.

I have had the Razr for almost 18 months now. It's been the best phone for reception for me and pretty durable as well. I have dropped it several times. Other than some small scratches, still looks good and giving me good service. My experience with Razr has been the best of any other phones that I have used including several Nokia's and SE phones.

Ditto that. I've used around 10 different phones on Cingular in the past year, and the RAZR is by far the best. No drop-outs, strong signal, voice-quality on par with land-line. Honorable mention goes to Siemens SK65 and SX66. Sony z520a was middle of the road, and NEC phones were terrible on voice-quality.

My experience with the Razr was just the opposite, spotty service in areas were friend's Cingular phones (including other Moto phones!) got almost full signal. I switched to the W600 and haven't looked back and it works much better for me.
