New Treo 650 owner. Simple question (I think)

I just got my Treo in the mail 2 days ago. One thing I don't like concerning the web browsing is having to manually log in to Yahoo mail, the website for my fantasy baseball league, etc. Is there not a way for the built-in web browser to remember user names and passwords so that all I have to do it type the "log in" button instead of entering that stuff every single time I pull up one of those sites?

I suggest you try a browser called Xiino. It has a feature similar to that, it somewhat remembers passwords. I say somewhat because I still occasionally have to type in a password, but I think it would meet your needs. Get it here- www.mobirus.com

Thanks. Does the browswer itself work as well or better than Blazer? I don't want to take a step back in the browser itself just to have it remember passwords or user names.

Oh Xiino rocks, don't worry. Its way faster than Blazer, you won't be disappointed.

Cool. Thanks!

but, there are some pages that won't show correctly with xiino... that being said, it is a much faster browser, even faster than the Fast Mode Blazer that's out there from the LifeDrive...

Fast Mode Blazer? Me want. Where could I get it?

Look on Treocentral....

from what I read in the thread though, I don't think it works with 1.13a Sprint Treos, but I don't know what the current firmware verson is for Sprint Treos.

yeah, Treocentral.com has all the hacks/mods I've seen... If you wanna try doing a custom ROM that's the place to go as well... I've now got 16.4megs free and I've got Agendus Pro v11, Agendus SSL Mail v5, DocsToGo, SplashPhoto, Files and ZLauncher all in the ROM... Don't wanna jynx myself by talking about resets, but, it's been good...lol
sorry that was off topic but I just updated Agendus and Docs To Go on my ROM and it makes me very happy...

I think I'm gonna try a custom ROM. Is there any way you could post a link or PM a link to all the roms over there? Pretty please?

Posted by: Laker4Life

no prob, gimme a few mins...

Posted by: Laker4Life

Hey Kabuki,
This first link is to the ROMTool from mmastrac at TreoCentral. He's a very nice helpful guy that's really taken care of the Treo community... Get his ROMTool then go to the 2nd link, which was done by jamesgangut another great guy at TC. He put together a Step by Step guide that is almost foolproof... There are also links in his PDF file to a List of the files in the ROM and what they do and whether or not you can delete... The 3rd link was also done by jamesgangut and details the different ROM's and their Partition sizes... You will really want to read up on as much as possible before doing this... There's a lot out there. Let me know if you have any problems, I may or may not be able to help...lol Best of luck!!

i'm a bit confused with all this rom talk lol. what exactly does changing the rom do for me?

Posted by: Kabuk1

Adds/deletes programs, fixes glitches, allows you to tweak the OS to your specific preferences.

Hey Laker, check your msgs, I PMed you last night.

Posted by: dabum

which rom are you currently using?

Posted by: Kabuk1

I still have the regular Sprint rom, I'm still working on my custom rom.

Posted by: Laker4Life
