Is this a problem on the 616 Phones?

Just activated a pay as you go account with Fido with an old phone, and a buddy offered a SE T616 to me for $50. About 8 out of 10 condition. Gets great reception. Better than my Nokia 5190! But I have to push the power button 3 or 4 times to get it to turn on. I’ve taken the button off and tried to light up the phone by hitting the button directly with the tip of a pencil, but it still will not turn on consistently on the first try. Is this an indicator that there is something wrong with the phone that will only get worse in the future? Everything else appears to work. And it turns off no problem. But is this phone worth the hassle? I love the T616 and I think it would be a great phone to have when I’m going out and stuff, but maybe it’s just a delicate phone that has been dropped one to many times. Is it easy to find parts for this phone in the Greater Toronto area? Should I offer less for the sucker? I don’t want to rip the guy off, but it's one of about 3 spare phones that he has. Or should I just keep my eye out for another one in the for sale section? Dude changes phones more often than I change oil on my truck.

wow that's a lot of headache for $50, you know for $50 you can get a new w600i from Cingular after rebates! shucks for free you can get a VGA bluetooth phone like the t616.

i too liked the t616, it was my last phone before going to the w600i, still sitting in my used stack.

Figured it out! Got the phone for 20! realized that to turn it on the button had to be held down for 3 sec. Sweet!!!!!!!
