And is the commision money garunteed. T-MO is not, if your not 100% to quota, you will not get 100% of your commision that you were supposed to get. Is it the same way, or you get whatever you sell no matter what. P.S. I understand that there will be deac's.

Expect to be questioned on past experiences. How did you handle a certain situation? Any success stories from past sales jobs, work ethics, and pretty much the same questions you hear at every interview. If you can prove you can sell, and you have a knack for talking with people then your in. |

Also, what is the 401K? Online it says you can contribute up to 50%, but what is their match, and for how much that you put away do they match? Thanks! |

Yes. Also, can they take their personal Cingular line and switch it to the personal use line plan after 90 days? Yes, once it is out of contract. Cannot be switched to COU (Free, Unlimited Everything Line) |

Although I could care less what I get. Im just happy I got a good *** job. It would be cool to have a tilt. Also, inorder to upgrade my COU do I have to wait a certain time or pay out of my pocket. Will I basically have the same phone forever? Im asking these questions because when my manager told me about my COU she made it seem like I could pick my joint.
A customer could walk in lookin to buy just one item and I'd tack on all kinds of stupid accessories and ALWAYS gotta get the bullcrap service plan. And dont let them refute my advances to buy extra stuff, I would just get another one my co-workers involved and we would badger the hell out of them until they buy it. Those were the days. I remember, working at FootLocker, I used to grab extra shoelaces for a customer and actually LACE them into their shoes, take out the original ones, and be like "gotta get the laces wit it dog!" Everybody would fall for it too. I think its human nature to say "no" so I just dont give em a chance

My main question is, what are my chances of moving up within the company and how long would these steps take. I do not imagine myself working as a regular sales rep. for any longer then 18 months. My main reason for working for AT&T is because I enjoy working with cell phones and I wanted to find a career that had to do with cell phones, so I figured working as a sales rep. is a good way to get my foot in the door for future goals. Is my thinking correct? Are chances high for me to be a sales rep. for about 18 months or less and expect a promotion as long as I hit my quota's? Any input will be helpful so please don't be shy to respond! ![]() |

I know a guy who will be there for 10 years this December and he's been a Retail Sales Consultant the whole time. I'm sure you can do anything you want if the right opportunity opens up for you. I guess what I'm trying to say is, you never know. I guess it doesn't hurt to think optimistic. It works for some. I was optimistic for the first year until I realized I wasn't going anywhere. I finished college and got a degree and am much happier where I'm at now. Being a cellphone salesman may work for some as a career, but it definitely wasn't for me. Good luck. I hope you get promoted quickly. Anything is possible.

So, keep telling yourself that a job as a cellphone salesman/woman has a secure future because, in fact, you and I both know that it doesn't.
Here's a good example: http://howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=1275432 But if a job where your commission gets lower and lower while your quotas increase and increase is your cup of tea, then by all means... |

Second, it may not be the case I stated for everyone. It isnt for me. But our sm, who was once a rep, didnt want to be promoted to sm or even asm because it would be around a 15k price drop a year as far as salary goes. Now, as far as comp goes, no duh its dropping. And yes, god knows it was great last year. the fact of the matter is this job is not my career. its just a mc-job until I decide where to go with my own life. But as for the folks that are at your precious college right now, chances are they dont own there own car, motorcycle, and house that they bought without mommy and daddy. So being a rep is fine for me. ![]() |

College isn't for everyone though. Take Bill Gates. And just because someone went to college doesn't always mean they'll end up making more than a senior employee. Then again, im in no way advocating not going to college. Education is always necessary. |
