Moto E398 - Use MP3s on TransFlash as ringtones?

The topic title is pretty self explanatory. My E398 reads the card just fine, and I can transfer files to it and the phone can browse them if I switch the Storage Device settings, but when I go into Ringtones, it always always always reads from the phone's "audio" folder and not the card's, and you can't change it like you can in Pictures or Videos or Sounds.
Is there anyway to use mp3 files on the TF card as ringtones? Or do ringtones HAVE to be on the phone's internal memory??
