Wirelessly posted (motorola razr v3c: Nokia6682/2.0 (3.01.1) SymbianOS/8.0 Series60/2.6 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0)

I would keep the Nokia.

I'm trying to upgrade both my wife and I to the L2 as it shows up as free for me under premiere as well.

Perfect phone for me as I can't have a camera for work. Plus, we already have a camera.

I don't like that Nokia, so I would probably take the L2. Of course there are lots of reasons to chose one over the other.

Something very odd happened. I placed my order yesterday on the premier site. Everything went through fine. I even called to make sure since I was uncertian we were eligable for upgrades. All systems go it seemed.

Today I got an e-mail stating that neither of us were eligable for upgrades. The e-mail said the following:

"Unfortunately, we cannot process your order because you have either upgraded your device/service in the last 24 hours or have upgraded your device/service more than 4 times within the last 12 months."

Neither of these conditions are true so I called back. Turns out I got one of the fastest talking people I've ever heard. She stated that the e-mail was incorrect and that I was only 15 months into my 2 year contract and needed to be 18 months in. I'll be elegible in September. This was my original fear and I told her that I had called to confirm this exact fact. She never apologized for the confusion and told me that once these e-mails are sent, they cannot upgrade the user. She also said that trying to upgrade may have messed something up in the system because now it was saying that I couldn't upgrade until April 07 -- after my contract would normally expire?!?

What should I do now. I didn't want to argue with her as I suspect she was right about needing to wait till september. But she never offered to make sure my account wasn't messed up. (I'm also a little bummed since I'm not sure what will be available in September since I want a nice phone without a camera. Oh well. I guess I'll wait and see.)

She also said something interesting that I am still confused about. She said that I could upgrade thorugh a store BUT I would not get the premier discount. Instead, I would have to pay something like $99 but she wasn't sure. If I'm not elegible for an upgrade under premier, why would I be at a store?

Thanks for any advise...

If you spend more than $75/mo on a line, you should be eligible for upgrade after 13 months of a 2 year contract. If you don't, it's possible your company no longer gets the 2 phone/yr benefit.

Either way, as with any call center, call back and speak to someone else and see if you get an answer you like better. In the future, order from NBO or whatever they're called now rather than the Premier site and you'll know before you're off the phone whether your order was actually placed or not. You might even get them to apply your discount to the regular retail price of the phone rather than the inflated business price.

Thanks for the info. Actually, I'm spending around $59.99 before tax on both lines. Perhaps that's why. I have no idea about the two phone per year benefit.

Also, not to sound too ignorant, but who is NBO? I've heard about the inflated pricing for the business lines and that, in itself, is a little bit crooked. Oh well. The rate plans are much cheaper!

Thanks again! I'll call back and see what I can do.

NBO is like Telesales, but for business accounts. I think there's a number in the FAQ forum.

Thanks! That helps. I see they are also offering the L2 for free on the non-premier site. Seems that equipment is not cheaper on premier but rate plans are.
