I just moved into a house near power lines... Both me & my wife have cingular and our reception now stinks! Our phones work everywhere else in the Valley (Phoenix) but rarley get antenna signals on our property.

Is this generally a problem?

I live with power lines just beyond my backyard/pool area and never had any problems with a signal. By the way, I have used a LG 4010, Moto V620, and now use a Moto SLVR L7.

About a mile away from me there is a cell tower built into the high power lines.

I've traveled under major power lines many time while on a call and have never noticed any interference. Even if it did receive interference there is not much you can do about it since a cell phone is considered a FCC part 15 device.
