L6 Pop/smtp

I was told the L6 had POP/SMTP access like the V551 did. But In my text message area, there is no 'email function' and the so-called email client doesnt allow me to add a POP client- but only allows me to pick from yahoo, aol, etc... how do I fix this? Is there any way I can get my SMTP checked without using MEdia NET
