Quadband v3x?

I have been pateintly, then impatiently and finally given up waiting for the v3i. I just can't bring myself to pay for a new phone that is so lacking in the high-speed internet department.

My question is, is there any word on when a quadband v3x may be coming out or start getting tested? I don't plan on waiting for cingular to release it, i'd buy it online, but i think i'm going to skip over the v3i and go straight to the v3x.

I just got my V3x from CompUSA and I'm using it on cingular currently. I havn't had any problems with reception or coverage here in this area despite it being 1900. I was a total V3i fan but the V3x is much better in person than in pics and the features do it justice. The menu's for browsing images and the phone book are much better than the slvr or razr I have. It's very nice to be able to sort contacts to just phone or just sim, and browsing 4 images at a time is much better than one at a time with the other moto's.

CompUSA does not sell the V3x...

Yes they do, we got them in 2 days ago. They are not listed on the website, but in store we have "3" branded unlocked V3x's.

And yes I'm in the US, California.

That's cool, but what's the point when it's main features (video calling and UMTS) don't work in the US? It's only a UMTS 2100 phone.

Yea, that's why i was asking. I want a phone with 3g, and i don't want to buy a v3x without the US 3g bands. Plus, i live in southern cali, and we definitely have a lot of 850 towers down here.

That's why I'm still on my old SIM card.
It's pointless to use the 3G networks of San Diego and Salt Lake City if there isn't a serious selection of supported phones to begin with.

I've heard a few people who know Motorola engineers say that the V3x is not coming to the US. Even if Cingular did release it Lord knows that it will be a long time before it comes out. Look at the V3i fiasco. That phone has been out for quite a while and Cingular is still testing the software.

I'm currently using the V3x in Southern California and I'm getting great reception which matters most to me.

its a damn shame. my v3xis like the trophy wife that just wont cook and clean.

Wasn't there a page on moto's site that said they are comming out with a new phone that looks like the V3x (same form factor) but it has HSDPA any updated features? If that's US compatible I will just get that when it comes out.
