Can you give me a link to a site where I can buy one? I tried google but had no luck... I live in Europe, and bought my 904T on eBay... Now I'm worried since I never saw batteries for sale, and if the original one dies... I'll be phoneless.... Thanks in advance! First convert an MP3 to WAV format (using JetAudio, for example), then convert WAV to MMF format, using Yamaha Wave Sound Decorator. Both programs are available as free downloads. Remember that the MMF's maximum size is 300KB (about 30 seconds). |

Just remember they must be under 300 Kb to be used as ringtones (this usually requires you to use YWSD to crop the files to a maximum of 50 seconds and resample them to 22050 or 16000 Hz and mono sound). Put the files in "E(or whichever drive letter your SD card uses):\PRIVATE\VODAFONE\My Items\Sounds & Ringtones" and you're done! ![]() If you send the files to the phone using bluetooth (and I think infrared too), then the MMF files will automatically be placed in the ringtones folder. |

I can see the Mail Server under messaging though it doesn't connect; Cingular suggests the phone should have an icon for its enabled phones. I have their PDA Unlimited data and Cingular says this includes email. http://www.visto.com/products/how_to_buyb.asp http://www.visto.com/products/devices.asp (listed under Softbank Mobile) I currently access email via POP3 but Visto is a push solution. |

I guess that its either the GPS hardware is not compatible with the program, or the GPS hardware is programmed to only receive input from Vodafone/Softbank Servers in Japan. I think the GPS program is configured the same way. |

Japanese firmware phones made by Sharp or Toshiba don't have POP/IMAP email clients. They send email using a modified form of the MMS protocol that all networks other than Softbank's aren't compatible with. About all these phones can do in terms of Japanese messaging is SMS; if you can't even do that then as you say, there's no point to owning the phone.

From what I have seen, Yahoo alerts sometimes will not show up on time, anywhere from 1 minute after the mail arrives, 30 minutes, 2 days, or never. Since February, I have had 4 serious outages that have lasted days. I managed to PO Yahoo support complaining about it, but the best thing I could do was send a complaint to Mail Alerts Help using a form (I bookmarked it since it happens so much) and fire off another complaint when it happens. From my usage of gmail (admittedly not as long) it doesn't seem to have the same issues. Worked fine when I was in Japan too.
The other issue, just a minor one is that the alert allows 100 characters to be sent from Yahoo, basically Yahoo alert title, reply to address then the remaining is your message. It leaves little room for previewing the mail. For Gmail, the title is much shorter so if your mail is in english or roma-ji, you can read the entire message usually. Japanese mails for both will show up as moji-bake (i am using cingular). I am using an old 3rd party app (possibility a precursor to Gmail), and Gmail's mobile app to send mail to Japan. I love the Gmail app, but it cannot be sent to all carriers. My friends on Softbank can receive my gmail just fine, and I can read theirs fine on the gmail app. However, my GF on KDDI's au network cannot receive gmail mails to her phone. Yahoo works fine, but gmail will not work. I am hoping that with Google's country wide adoption that it will work soon, but I saw on many japanese blog sites how gmail was prevented from being sent to au phones. Anyway, I am still stuck with sending yahoo mail to her, and gmail to my friends. I am hoping for a better solution with the iPhone advent that with the push IMAP from Yahoo (maybe google tooo???) and OSX. |

i read them ages ago but my security software has stopped me from logging on until today when I learned how to uninstall it :P
The best I've got is MPEG4 Video at 300kps, AMR Narrow Band 12,000KHz 8kps in a .3gp container but that looks and sounds horrible so I was wondering if anyone knew a program or settings that I could use to make better quality videos for it..

I did get songs onto the phone but it required me to use the horribly designed Beat Engine Box which only works with Windows :/ so it's not ultra useful for me as I'm a Mac person. It plays AAC and MP3 and converts the files into some funky DRM'ed format... plus you need a memory card to use the program, otherwise it will keep coming up with 'Your need a memory card...' messages :/
Hope that helps anybody who needs it
) but till then I did get the ringtone Soba ni Iru Ne up... it's my current ringtone so it was easy

Just remember to change it from .3gp to .3g2
