Verizon & DUN

I used to have a samsung a610 and use DUN over the data cable all the time and NEVER pay any data charges. As soon as I got my 650 and my PDA/Smartphone plan I was slammed with HUGE data charges when using DUN. Does anyone know if it would be possible to keep my 650 and change my plan back to a normal NON PDA/smartphone plan? My friend is using DUN with his a670 and doesnt pay any data charges either. We are both using the Futuredial drivers.

With Verizon and a smartphone, you have these choices

Data service disabled (you'll have to convince them to do this)
Pay per KB data (bad idea if you use data)
10mb Data - Probably still a bad idea
Unlimited Data - RIDICULOUS pricing

So to answer your question, yes you can -not- have a data plan on the phone, but you won't be able to use ANY data features. No pix messaging, no email, etc.

Thanks Croix... That first option doesnt seem too desirable. I guess ill just stick with me 10mb

If it possible to get a data plan just to get verizon to activate the phone on my smartphone and then cancel it and still have phone service on my smartphone?
