No waiting customer service number?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hey guys, I'm a Cingular Authorized retail dealer and I was wondering if anyone can provide me with a no waiting customer service line? We used to have one before but it recently got disconnected.

Any help would be great and very appreciated!

As far as I know there isn't one. The fastest way to get a CSR is to enter the phone number, then 0, 0 through the menu...

what area are you in

Posted by: Kenosis

I'm in California in the Pac Bell market. The number does exist because I've used it before. The old one used to be 1-866-860-6416.

Someone has to know it... having to call customer care and being a dealer is kind of a ridiculous concept. There has to be an express number.

In the same context, why can't CS have a direct # to each retail store?

I don't know about the other stores but CS does have a direct # to our store. This is mainly because we are one of the biggest dealers here in the Bay Area in California. We're listed as a corporate store in the directory for some reason because of this.

i have a great one that gets me to any department of customer care but it does not boot me to the beginning of the queue

There used to be a direct number, but some generous reps gave it out to customers and they disconnected the number.... now we wait like everyone else

We are a cor store and we never had a 866 direct #. We do however now have a direct # that can only be called by our landline phones. pretty quick response times.

I work as an authorized agaent, the saddest day of my work there was when I called "dealer support services" and got a message saying the number was no longer in use. Now I get to suffer the horrid CS wait times, which is impossible when you are trying to run a business.

And if and when customer service has to contact your location, it is also subject to the possiblility of not getting through if you don't answer the phone or are to busy to answer.

Oh COME ON, that's a different situation! He's dealing with waiting customers who are getting pissed off because Cingular doesn't know how to hire enough CS reps. When CS tries to call a business, it's a business dealing with another business, and therefore the standard "customer etiquette" is a little different.

cingular hires plenty of CS reps. just most of them can't make it through training.

Posted by: NukuCamui

its not the training...its the first week on the phones. CS loses more training reps that way because they cant handle an upset customer or they freak out and have an anxiety attack.

Not necessarily. Many times when a CS rep is calling an agent, it's because they have a customer on the line with them who has questions for or about the agent. It's not quite the same as having a customer in the room with you, but the customer can get just as upset about having to wait on the phone as they do about waiting in the store.

If I am calling an agent while answering calls it is usually because I need to verify that equipment has been returned or to speak with a store rep for a customer dispute while the customer is on hold. I am not calling agents/stores for kicks. Yes it is the same thing.

To address the side note - in any business, wireless or not, the person standing front of me is more important than the one ringing my phone. end of story.

To the OP - ask your account rep. If there is a line, they should have it for you.

lol.. nice change of topics for a moment guys hah.

Thanks, I'll ask my Cingular rep.

Nice. Where did you get that?

Posted by: MrAlifEkin

Now that the number is on a public forum, I wonder how long it will take to get THAT one shut off! LOL!

Posted by: stripesace

as long as customers don't tell the person where they got the number .....

Posted by: blessd24

Hmm just dont give it to the customers.

Posted by: NukuCamui

but there are MANY customers who come here to lurk. Maybe an admin or mod should remove it.

Posted by: BellaDea

^^^ that's what I was thinking. being as it's a propriatary number specifically for one branch of cingular, not for all customers, it should only be given through PM...... oh well, too late now i guess.

Kenosis - what agent do you work for in the pac bell market?

You may want to try 1-800-362-8496, you dont need to listen to the message but you are still in a queue its just not as long because no need to travel through the system.

Posted by: NukuCamui
