my sony w600i is broken. i have no idea how to fix it..
i installed some games on it so now it doesnt work.
i called sony about getting it fixed but the IMEI number has been scratched off due to the sim card.. the sim card scratches it when u take it out..
this sucks ...

If that's a feature of the w600 - I'd take it back to a Sony service centre. They'll have
the software to verify the IMEI number and they'll have all the necessary firmwares to
fix it.

when i told them that the number got scratched they said it voided the warranty. in addition to that i found out my imei number by clicking < * # 06 # but they said that when they recieve the phone, they look at the sticker on the phone and if it is scratched they send the phone back without repairing it.

That's naughty - you could fight it on the grounds of poor design ?
After all it's they're product and their fault.
