8940 shutting off random

I've got one of the oldest 8940's(got it when it first came out), and in the past few weeks it has started to shut off randomly.

For example, after a call when i close the phone, i hear a high pitched beep and the phone shuts off.

Other times its in my pocket and i look at it, and it is shut off. It will always turn back on and work.

Do i need to take this in and get the software upgraded, or is there another problem here?

i had that phone replaced prolly 5 times for data problems. check and see if theres a new software you can update to. if not have it exchanged or upgrade to a new phone.
