Does cingular offer a 3g PDA/smartphone? Can i just buy such a 3g device (unlocked of course) and use it with cingular's 3g?

Noy yet.
Sure, look for the HTC TyTN (PDA) or the HTC MTeoR (Smartphone).
After buying the phone/PDA you'll need the 64K 3G SIM card and a 3G network to use it on.

Do your homework, it may not work if the frequencies are wrong. I am not sure about manually putting in all the 3G connection settings either. I am sure someone could answer that though.

From looking at the promo matierals on the HTC homepage, the TyTN will have triband 3G support. So it should in fact work in the states. Awesome.

so it looks like the ty tn will not work with cingular - but the other one will? are these really the only 3g smartphones/pdas?

Why do you say that? The TyTN is a Tri-Band (850/1900/2100) HSDPA/ Quad-band (850/900/1800/1900) GSM...

It sounds like all the bands that Cingular uses are in there...

i thought the ty tn is WCDMA....that will work with cingular?

but are these phones available? or not yet?

By the end of July...Europe that is.

Is this 3G the newest SIM card? Would it be of any benefit for me to get one for my 6682? I think I have a standard 64k SIM now.

If your device doesn't support 3G and you don't have a 3G network to use then the 3G 64K SIM is useless. In this case, the 3G 64K SIM will function like a normal 64K SIM.
