RadeonWabi - Black Monster DATE Question

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hi All

Did my first flash from R372 to R373 and as stated on many sites I WILL NEVER GO BACK, I am using RadeonWabi - Black Monster and it is fantastic, BUT the date never stays on the screen has anyone info on this problem(The date appears for a few sec on startup then no more..?).

Regards

P.S All that are using std R372 you should convert to R373 even the lag has gone and iTunes beats the original MP3 player into the ground.

I have also found this problem on other MP's and have found a solution, or two.

The date disappears when GPRS attaches. You can go into the engineering menu and set GPRS Auto Attach to off. Now your date should remain.

That is the quick and easy way, now for a more experianced way to fix it,
Use my 01a8_0001 seem, also change:

SEEM 010a_0001 with hex editor

offset 00 - bit 0 and bit 1 to on

In engineering mode on phone, select GPRS auto attach to off,

Now, GPRS will automatically attach for data transfer, and detach after data session, and you can see the GPRS Icon change from attach to unattached, and still have the date present.

Hi

Thanx Aircraft800 I am in the middle of flashing REVOLUTION MP when/if I go back I will give it a go.

What is it that clears the date as I tried to move it around thr skin incase it was that spot on the screen but it still vanishes???.

Cheers

You may have the same problem with Revolution. It's the blank text field which is clearing the date. Some providers had customized text when GPRS attaches like "GPRS Attached" or something other, but yours is blank, that's why turning off the autoattach in engineering menu fixes it till you use GPRS again.

The procedure stated above was on Revolution V3 (It's the one I used), and it also works on the other MP's I tried.

Hi
how do I get into the engineering menu and set GPRS Auto Attach to off.

SEEM 010a_0001

offset 00 - bit 0: GPRS auto-attach at power-on (1 on, 0 off) (if bit 1 is on, auto-attach will be off)
bit 1: GPRS detach after GPRS data session (bit 0 must be on to activate)

SEEM 01a8_0001 controls Date/'GPRS' displayed in second line of home screen under carrier name

SEEM 0032_0001 offset 40 - bit 1: Display 'GPRS Attached' icon (1 on, 0 off)
