Hey guys
I recently came into possesion of two mpx220's. yes there are issues with the software. however if you flash an asian rom these issues are resolved and you are left with only one glaring problem, that annoying speaker. the speaker on this thing is terrible, I cant figure out why CMCS and moto let this phone out the door with such a terrible speaker. its not like its even bad sometimes, its always bad, when you start the phone you can hear how horrible it is. anyways I got so sick of it that I pulled a speakerphone from a dead moto v220 and removed the fabric grill layer and soldered it into the place of that crap speaker that it came with.
the result is a speaker that though tight fiting is faw superior to the original in fact I have had Zero problems(aside from the lcd occasionally warping when I hold it the wrong way).
I would highly recomend doing this if your sick of your speakerphone/ringtone quality.
maybe next time I will use a better speaker from a RAZR or something.
