I just got the Motorola a1200 Ming phone, I like it a lot. I have a few questions though if anyone can answer them that'd be great.

1.Is it possible to edit the screen, ie the shortcuts, and moving the date, or adding the day of the week.
2. Is it possible to have a screensaver?
3. Can I change the phone's skin to something other than the default skins?

Any help would be great.

1. You can edit 2 ofthe 4 shortcuts in the phones menu. The other 2 can be changed with some hacking. The date and day of the week cant be changed yet.
2. Yes you can have a screen saver.
3. Yes there are more skins available, there is a loader on the motofans forum for installing them.

As far as usefule programs, there isn't alot available at the moment as the phone is still pretty new. There is some development in the Chinese community ive found the club.ccmove.com site usefull but I'm stuck with bablefish translations since I dont read Chinese. It will also run most Java apps as long as the keypad isnt crucial for the program.

how do you put a screensaver? can i use a gif as my wallpaper?

For the wallpaper I have used pictures I have taken from the phone. Just go to the setup screen and go to wallpaper, hit the bottom left hand corner and choose either more or browse. Choose a pic and voila...
