7130c tethering

I searched for this on the forums as well as on Google but I didn't have any luck.

I am trying to set up tethering on the 7130c. I found instructions for the 7130v and some generic instructions for setting up a dialup connection on Cingular. Putting the two together did not work.

My laptop sees the modem, desktop manager is open, but it doesn't dial.

Do you need a data plan for teathering? Most carriers want more money if you are going to use your phone as a modem

IT WORKS FINE.

I'm using a 7130c right now. Like right now.

$74.99, it cost me on top of my voice plan, though.

I got mine working today as well. However I am just using the 29.99 BIS plan.

Please let us know if Cingular sends you a bill for tethering and/or forces you to the 79.99 plan.

Will do. I had used my Cingular 8125 and Nokia 6230 for tethering with the medianet unlimited plan for over a year with no charges.

I do remember having to turn off something called on demand data (could be called something else) which is basically the feature that would allow you to use medianet or gprs data even if you didn't have a plan.

I'll keep you posted.

can you post instructions on how you got yours to work? Or a link to a site that provides it? I have not been able to find any. Thanks!
