Unlocked V3i unable to get service

I just purchased a new Unlocked V3i and I am trying to active on a Kuwait network called Wataniya. I am unable to get service with the Wataniya SIM card. I have been told by another V3i user that I may need to update my firmware. Can anyone help me on this. I am on active duty and have limited access to help.

i had the same problem in the u.s. do you have the itunes version or the DPA version?

I have the i-tunes version. I have tried several SIM and get the same problem. Did you fix your problem?

yeah i went to www.planetmotox.info. there you will see a link for the v3i download the monster pack for the itunes version. MAKE SURE IT IS FOR THE ITUNES VERSION! if not you will end up with a bricked phone. this solved all my problems the phone even gets better recieption now too. the only thing that will be different is that the default language will be german but well change once you sim card is inserted and you will have to do another edit to turn on the voice regonition. try and let me know how it works. also you will need to make friends with google and find a program called rsd lite 2.4 in order to do the flash.

Thanks! got it. I am having a bit of trouble getting RSD lite to recognize my phone. I am doing a search in the forums to find out why.

cool. you might need to install the p2k drivers on your computer but also make sure you usb connection on your phone is set to data/fax

No luck getting it to recognized with RSD lite. I had a Civilian friend here take it out in town to the shop. Should hear somthing in a day or two.
