here there guys... I got the V3i with itunes. I've been listing to itunes through my car stereo like a normal ipod (with this special cable from ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...em=150002131576 ) SOUNDS GREAT!!

Anyway, here's the deal... When I'm listening to itunes and I get a call, itunes stops playing and my ringtone comes on... (all of this is great) but when i go to answer the phone the caller can't hear me but i can hear them just fine through my car's stereo speakers. I soon realized the phone is thinking I have a usb headset with an external mic! hence the reason why the phone's built in mic doesn't work.

IS there anyway possible i can use the phone's microphone in this way? To clarify: my ultimate goal is to be able to listen to itunes through my car, and when someon calls i just hit a button (or flip open) and talk directly into the phone while i hear the caller through my car speakers. I'm ALMOST there!! would this require a seem edit??

instead of pluggin in your headphone adapter to the phone, you could splice the wiring on a headset after the microphone. so what i'm saying is.. phone>headset plug>microphone>(splice earphone wires)<splice in your 3.5mm adapter>car stereo. when you cut the wires after the microphone, it's just positive/negative left/right.
