Motorola Q Active Sync Problems

Picked up the Motorola Q 2 days ago and I installed the Active Sync 4.1.0 that came on the cd with the phone. When i connect the phone to the computer via USB the computer recognizes the phone, but when i go to dbl click it, it's empty no files or folders....The active sync is constantly trying to connect while spinning the green circle...i tried opening up the Active sync in the phone while connected to the computer and hitting sync and messing with the menu...but to no luck....
Tried installing and uninstalling twice.....any advice or anyone going through same thing ???
You guys are the best so I was hoping you could shine some light.
