Cingular 8125: Vibrating Ability?

I am really close to purchasing one of these phones and have done extensive research. However, I have not found anything that specifically states how the vibration function is on this phone. I am assuming it does exist, yes? Also, does it work well for the purpose of meeting/task reminders through Mobile Outlook? Any comments about the vibrate function would be much appreciated.

Yes. Under Sounds and Notifications, there is a checkbox for Vibrate which can be selected for any sound event. When selecting a Ring Type for say, an Incoming Call, there are options for "Vibrate", "Vibrate and ring", and "Vibrate then ring".

I jumped the first day I set the darn thing on vibrate is was so strong... It does not go un-noticed...

Yeah don't ASSUME any device has a vibrate feature....you might end up with the 9300 pretty dissapointed...lol

I appreciate all the feedback and I did go ahead and make the purchase. I ABSOLUTELY love this phone. It might have a newer ROM than most because I have experienced NO complaints that I have read about. It worked perfectly with my Jabra 250 headset and my Wi-FI at home. It is by far the best thing since sliced bread.....imo .

I am also close to buying this phone, not certain, but most likely will. I'm in the process of getting it now. After the nightmare with my motorola mpx 220, I have decided to get a pda. I'm doing the research now and the 8125 looks like a pretty good choice. Hopefully it's better than this mpx220 crap. I'm on my second mpx220 already. Still having the same problems

tecboi,

i had an mpx220 very early on. volume issues, etc. the 8125 is an excellent replacement, especially when moving to wm 5.0 from smartphone.

Yea, i'm good. As long as I have none of the issued i had with this piece of crap. I hear that there are some good apps for this. Plus i heard that it has a wireless NIC card. So i can connect wirelessly. which is good because I have a router set up at home

Agreed. Strongest vibrating alert I've ever come across in a phone. Vibrates hard enough to make it dance on my desk if it's out of the case. Almost worries me about the longevity of the device - lots of little parts being shaken about!

You can assign ring, vibrate, ring then vibrate, or ring and vibrate to any of the 'events'. So if you want it to ring and vibrate for calls, just ring for email, and just vibrate for SMS, you can do that. You can also quickly toggle to vibrate mode by holding down the Comm button (upper left button) for a couple of seconds.
