Ok, I just bought myself the slider remix and I know how to work making ringtones etc

however, I also bought my girl the candid........and I was wondering if I purchased the data cable for it.........do I do the ringtones the same way?

help me out with as much info as possible and thanks, this is a great site for kyocera

Like you, I have a Remix and others in the family have the Candid. I haven't had any luck with the data cable. I did buy one off eBay. But I found that I could only use it with KPST, which did allow me to get into the programming and enable the two games that were locked by Alltel. But I was unsuccessful at getting QPST or BitPim to recognize the phone, so I haven't been able to transfer files. I called Kyocera -- they said that I'd have to have a serial cable rather than a USB cable. That sounded a little strange to me, but that's what the guy said. I haven't been able to even find a serial cable anywhere for the Candid, however. So, the only method I know of to transfer custom ringtones to the Candid is to get them onto my Slider first, and then send them from the Slider to the Candid via a multimedia message. That isn't ideal, because then I get charged for both the outgoing and the incoming message (I'm pay-as-you-go on multimedia messaging). But it's the only way I've found to get custom ringtones onto the Candid. I'd be very interested if someone else has found another way to do it.

anyone else know how to get the customs ringtones on the candid

the slider was really easy because mine came with the usb cable.....however the candid didnt
