Guys
After having my p910 for a year I'm thinking to go for the E61....????

what do you guys think?
I don't know if Im gonna miss the touch screen, and if the phone is gonna be too big

but the Wifi/Edge/ it sounds interesting...
I went to the Beverly Center nokia center, but the prototype they had was totaly jackedup!!!

So I don't know, how really is the unit..???

I myself was considering this as well but have not used or even seen a E61 yet.

I held an E61 the other day just getting tired of waiting for the P990...............

Iknow I feel you...the thing is P990 is gonna be very expensive and not gonna have edge.....

I'm also considering the N80...but I'm not sure I can do without qwerty keyboard.

e61 is the best phone i ever used....for someone who needs a communication device it does everything i need. p990 is not suited for the North American market...no 850mhz, no edge...those are like the 2 most important things here....

I agree. The E61 is almost perfect - it needs a touch screen though.

Touch screen to me ruins a phone(only purpose is to show off with). It creates the need to have 2 hands to operate the phone, and especially people on the go like me, 1 handed operation is very important...I have owned iMate JAMin, as well as tre 650, both had touch screens and both were very slow to navigate because of the need to use 2 hands...treo was better than the ppc, i also owned BB 8700r which is good for 1 handed operation as well, but the keyboard i don't like and it is more limited as a device...the e61 handles edge faster as well...ahhh i love the e61, maybe i shouldnt promote it as much, then less people will have it.

It does not create a need to use both hands - it makes it possible to do non phone stuff in addition to being a great phone.

You're on a p910a right? That's the one phone I havn't been able to try yet, maybe it has good one handed operation as well as touch screen functionality, who knows, but for sure i feel an upgrade to e61 is worth it, and if you can wait maybe a p990 would suit your needs better...i need edge and 850mhz, for me these are the 2 most important things to me since i have unlimited edge data.....

I've owned a P910i for a while last year. Its a great phone. I've reciently ordered a E61 (should arrive tomorrow). I've been waiting for the P990 but who knows when that's coming out. The price is totally great for an E61 considering what you get with it.

I'm sure you'll love it.

Just sold the P910i which was an excellent phone! Ordered up a E61 so it should also, be here soon, hopefully today, so I'll post my thoughts on both units. I was considering this before but once I read the post, it made me do more research on the E61 and I finally bit the bullet and did it. I also was waiting for the P990 too but I maybe waiting awhile so E61 it is! Hopefully I will not regret selling my P910i, I guess I'll soon find out!!!

I had the I-mate Jam myself before I dumped it for the M600i. I'll say this much - the reason some of these touchscreen phones need two hands is nothing to do with the presence of a screen - it has to do with piss poor ergonomic design and inconsistenty in the interface design.

Simple as that.

Windows mobile was poor on this count. UIQ3 is slightly better but still has a long way to go in creating true one-handed usage. Simple things like the stupid location of the "new" menu in the M600i are very revealing. Taking away the context menu from the jog dial was also dumb.

But its simple design discipline, not touch screen. Touchscreen in fact gives you more possibilities for one-handed usage as ANY thing can be desined to be a button.
