My Treo 650 has performed flawlessly. Today, I downloaded numerous attachments from our family vacations via GMail. Although the dowloads came through just fine, now I am receiving an occasional prompt reading,
THE FREE DATA STORAGE SPACE ON THE DEVICE IS LOW. DELETE APPLICATION OR DATA.
All photos were downloaded to a 2GB Card w/ 75% of storage still free. No new Apps have been downloaded for some time and certainly not in relation to the above prompt. I suppose I can remove today's photos stored on the card, but why would that affect the device? Any suggestions?
Thank you.

Any ideas from anyone...?

The Treo 650 has a small "dynamic heap," which is the memory space used for actually running apps. The heap's cache doesn't empty properly sometimes, and that will generate a message like what you saw. Search PalmGear or sites like 1src or TreoCentral for an app called UnCache, which should help.

I've had that problem also, but from other software. Very interesting!

download and install Meminfo. when you run it it will tell you how much dbcache space you have, and if you press menu->clear dbcache. it will clean out the cache which should help with those errors
There are other programs that will flush the dbcache automatically when you exit apps, but unless you get those errors frequently they are unneccassary because they will slow down your device possibly.

I have now downloaded MemInfo and still have no results. Memory is so low that I cannot launch my browser... Thanks in advance.

How much memory do you have on your treo? I hope you have a meg or so free!

How do I tell?

By installing the PRC file and executing it. Works nicely at flushing to old junk from memory.

What PRC file? Sorry, but I don't understand...

From your main screen hit the task button then delete.. it will tell you how much free space you have on the device. then just hit done.
